Saying it’s out of jealousy is the most childish argument that comes up whenever the absurdly wealthy are discussed and it’s ridiculous, I don’t want $100+ dollars, I want that money to be used to help people and not held by 1 person who sometimes gives money to some character to make himself look good, also he’s not enjoying what he’s produced, he’s enjoying what other people have produced, he’s enjoy the things the people in Asia who put together Xboxes produced who he pays next to nothing too. The reality is that Buffet and Monger spent many years developing mechanisms to extract money from a really crappy game that even they don't actually understand. Gates was a software engineer who made a program, which he apparently plagerized. So the idea is that these guys are Ubermenchen because they manipulated money and for Gates he was in the right field at the right time, working on the right product. @@christopherorick8652 Capitalism can't work without taxes. There is no other way to transfer value to the areas of the economy that can't produce a profit as direct return on investment in three month intervals. Profits flow to those areas where the cost of labor can continually be cut in the service or commodity produced. Now think of a public transportation system. Mass transit is necessary as the most cost effective way to get people to work in a city. You can cut the cost of everything made that goes into the system and the repair costs. What is an almost impossible cost to cut in the last 70 years without cutting the bus or train drivers wage is the daily labor operating cost. This among other reasons is why almost every town and city in the US that has public transportation requires a tax subsidy. Most of those systems were founded as private systems that became unprofitable for that reason. They were declared bankrupt and placed into the hands of the government as a quasi public/private partnership.
@kimobrien.5 жыл бұрын
The second issue with taxes in a class society is who pays them? Here is where you can see that in the earlier days of capitalism the capitalist paid a great majority of the taxes because the exploitation of the workers was such that anyone thinking that the workers would pay anything but sin taxes would be laughed out of the room. In many industries we weren't even paid in what you'd call real money but instead company script usable at the company store only. We have won a few battles since then but having a payroll check bounce is still not an unusual experience.

Under capitalism, the incentive to produce goods and services is solely for the business owners to squeeze as many profits as possible from people who are already poor. Under socialism, the incentive to produce goods and services is to provide a high income to all of the workers, who would otherwise be at the bottom of the hierarchy. Capitalism restricts innovation and progression because the business owners get have all of the authority and run the business to make profits for themselves solely and not to provide legitimate goods and services to the public.

Buffett's right - capitalism is probably the best model, but regulation is important to the proper functioning of that system. In the UK successive governments have sold off so many public services, which operated extremely well and efficiently, and they have deteriorated, become inefficient and ludicrously expensive. This is because the companies want to maximise profits and extract huge dividends by keeping costs to an absolute minimum. This is enabled by toothless regulators who allow it to happen. The owners enrich themselves at the public's expense, and the public doesn't have a choice. It's a cartel.

Look at how Amazon workers are exploited for example, research, there has been a lot of talk about it. Amazon even destroyes 130.000 items a week in UK (laptops, phones, etc.)to keep certain prices. It's even worse if you look at other countries and not just the West. Look at how Steve Jobs made chinese children build his smartphones. Bill Gates stole his ideas from Xerox. The materials used to build computers and smartphones come from indian and african mines with child labour. Rihanna became a billionaire and her very famous makeup line uses mica, a mineral, taken from India by children. They built empires on others exploitation. Meanwhile, working class pays more taxes than them. We have been told communism is wrong because Stalin bla bla. Actually Lenin, Stalin, Mao, were deranged right wing in the marxist movement and were often criticized by other marxist which were the libertarian left in marxism (and so they got rid of them). Socialism and communism(S) are today different by the way. Socialism is simply a redistribution of wealth to reduce social injustices (example: through taxes). yeah right. 3 people that exploit thier workers. right off the bat gates doesn't describe socialism. which honestly would be a government not controlling production . a lie. socialism is to distribute the profit evenly amongst all that work for a common goal that's socialism. what dates describes is communism. complete control of production and all workers and ideology and freedoms for common welfare. that us not socialism.

@@PavelSenko well we will just agree to disagree then. We are already a socialist country. The problem with our version of socialism is that the poor and middle class do not benefit from it. The problem we probably disagree on is nuanced. Your calling communism socialism which I'd say is wrong and you'd probably disagree were a socialized country. But when the poor and middle class pay 25 to 27 percent of income on taxes and an additional 10.4 percent on food and 13 percent on gas and another 12 percent on cable thst tax went to pay for 900 military bases world wide it went to pay for r and d or the drug companies to further exploit us. Yes we fund research and development costs for new drugs. Yet we do not benefit from it. We pay for roads schools libraries cops fire departments government pensions and government workers salaries wen we spend too much we add it on the the national debt devalueing the worth of our dollar. Meaning you need more to buy less. This us unbridled capitolisim taking advantage and abusing the socialist structure required to have a society or a nation. All nations are founded in socialism it takes a social agreement and a social society thatagrees we all have basic needs and infrastructure to have a community. Socialism does not control production communism does socialism is we all agree we need clean water survive so we collect funds as a society to gold a lean water plant we all as that society benefit from the building of that facility. Yet we all can sell and buy as we wish, as capitalistic society as well. Communisim.forces it's citizens to both give up personal freedoms fornthe common needs of the people socialism makes no such demand. So my.pardon if I say no sir you would be incorrect. The issue I have with this countries. flawed understanding is the demonization of socialism. And how its portraid. The constitution and in its articles clearly states a citizens rights and thier responsibility to the union as a citizen. It also states how taxation is to be levied and what it's for. You really need to read this because it clearly is something no one in this country reads or understands. But since I've read the full constitution over 20 times can pretty much do this from memory. In the articles the original edicts of taxation is no citizen could be denied access to public roads unless the purpose of using the roads was to conduct commerce. So essentially the only ones paying fror the common welfare of the country would have been corporations or companies or tradesmen or farmers markets or craftsmen. Stay at home.moms or homsteaders that made thier own and grew thier own paid nothing. Finally when we had a great depression and a great war we needed more taxation for welfare and for a standing army. Social common needs were required since having poor and old and sick die in the streets was a common concern for all citizens s well as a major health issue so we got social security and Medicare. All brought about for the socialist common welfare of all people in the nation. Once isenhaur was out of office they allowed for a central bank and national debt. Since then we've been fucked overspending capitolism stealing our future by using debt spending for the last 50 years the more debt we accrew the worse our lives are. If I had a sociopathic mind and did not care about my county I'd do exactly what Trump did I'd borrow more money than I have tell everyone how important and successful I am buy realky expensive assets and hide them away in a remote location borrow more and repeat undervalued my properties when tax time came and over value them when selling and asking for more loans buy more assets declair bankruptcy. Then re invent myself and fund new suckers to lend me.more meanwhile all Tue assets I've salted away still have value and I ncrease.my wealth. Trump has defaulted on billions in loans yet he's a billionaire tho bankrupt 5 times. So when an asshole like Trump does that and defrauds the bank and eventually the bank has to default you.know what capitolisim does it socialized the loss and make you the taxpayer pay for it . . . See 2008 market crash and disaster. Yeah I see how I'm wrong now. Let's keep defending capitolisim. Excuse me I need to make some loans at a bank.

@McDonald Trump Wage disparity is greatest when between state and civilian in a communistic system which is just an extension of socialism. Though wage disparity exists in capitalism, that isn't the fault of free markets, but inconsistent business performance and crony capitalism which is similar to socialism in that it can lead to monopoly; a corruption of capitalism. Any business, including solo individuals like you or me, who has a consistent performance generating results that are relevant to market demands is empowered to do well in capitalism, including civilians, where in communism, you strip away any legal way to do so, and anything and everything you could want to do business-wise would (similar to paying off the mafia) have to be registered as an arm of government (like in China). Which do you prefer? Even communistic countries have had to allow capitalist zones (like Shenzhen) in order to generate economic growth. Social programs can be great, but only if the economy, best driven by capitalism, is prioritized and those implementing the programs are dedicated to those fields rather than just any registered group (whether best or not) hired by the generalist government with tax payer dollars being positioned to run them.
