Jung Yong Hwa and CNBLUE has a discography in both Korean and Japanese spread across 14 years, hence he has sung many genres from pop, to rock, to funk and even jazz. Yong Hwa's vocals are so flexible that he can cover different genres beautifully. If you like his more recent songs, please do listen to his latest solo album, Your City. So glad you reacted to this! CNBlue was so iconic in the 2nd gen. They were a 4 member traditional band (guitars, bass, drums) and played live on music shows. Yonghwa who did the killing voice was the main vocalist and sang the majority of their songs while the other 3 members did mostly supporting vocals. I think he performed a lot of older songs because they had so many popular hits. Their debut song I'm a Loner (first in this video) topped the charts in like 14 days, it was one of the fastest music show wins from a rookie group ever. I think they were an instant success because they capture the Korean music taste so well. Fun fact Yonghwa was on a show with Seohyun from GG called We Got Married where they acted as a married couple haha so they have a lot of content together too

i agree, cnblue was totally iconic. they are one of my personal pillars of 2nd gen and i've actually gotten some people into kpop years ago through cnblue. i always liken early cnblue's music to early maroon 5.

Yonghwa was trying to sing in a more CD style for Killing Voice so people can enjoy it on a daily basis. If you check out his live stages in concerts and festivals, it’s gonna be a whole different vibe, the arrangement is different each time with different adlibs, it's just a whole new level. He also has a very diverse range of sounds he can give, from rock and shouting to super gentle ballads, do check out his other live performances in recent University Festivals, and CNBLUE Yoo Heeyeol Sketchbook 2021 video where he performs with his band. Btw, I'm genie for you girl was for SNSD Seohyun who was his "wife" back in the We Got Married days, and Banmal Song following that were made together with Seohyun 13 years ago too.

I think most of the songs picked here were for Korea's general audience...they know what they like and that is OSTs and ballad style music. I wish more of the high energy songs were picked because that's where CNBlue really shines. I'd highly recommend checking out their concert footage because when I tell you that Yonghwa is one of the best frontman out there, I am not lying! He is high energy all the time, always doing the best adlibs, dancing around, switching from guitar to piano, jumping, running, literally everything he can on stage. Yonghwa is also probably one of the most well-rounded musicians in kpop. Really, I'd highly recommend any of the FNC bands as they are so insanely talented and great performers but when they are kind of stuck on stage like this...I think they don't know what to do. haha But put them on stage baby and they got it! Great reaction like usual!

loved the reaction even if the songs weren’t all your style! you’re always so good at pointing out vocal technique things that are typically skipped over! I’m guessing they’re playing the oldies cuz they’re considered classics to the fans but I do agree some more new stuff would be nice. These OG k rock bands are so nostalgic and i’m so glad they’re getting the chance to show off what they’ve got. really brings me back to when bands like cnblue, ftisland and drug restaurant ran the scene and set up the space for bands like day6 to thrive! anyways ty sm!!

Agree for FTI and CNBLUE paved the way for korean idol band, but drag restaurant is formed in 2015 just like Day6 and Nflying debut in 2015. And nowhere drug restaurant as known as Nflying let alone Day6 to be the generation that space for band like day6 😄 In Korea Jannabi and Hyukoh that debut in 2014 are more public acceptance and well known than Drug restarant 😆

The real charm of Yong Hwa is in the concert. He can sing for 3 hours and perform guitar and keyboard. He sings and dances at the same time, fully displaying his charm. His live singing is better than CDs, and he composes most of the songs. Every song he composes for Seohyun（Girls' Generation） is a classic

Hi thank you for your reaction. Actually the song he sing here is the song mostly recognised by the korean. If you look into CNBLUE japan released, there will be more upbeat songs, more rock songs and they actually had various genre music.. knowing him for so long, these setlist songs is actually not even 10% from CNBLUE great songs. Thanks for the great react! So interesting to hear your vocal analysis. Agility is a great way to describe Yonghwa's singing. I've heard him perform live and he brings that same agility to concerts as well, which is always a treat to hear. Btw, the performance that you thought was a bit disappointing, FIREWORKS, was written as a duet, with the first part sung by a female singer (Sun Woo Jung-a, who also wrote the song) whose range is much higher than Yonghwa's. So he's adjusting to singing her part (maybe mezzo?) and he's definitely out of his comfort zone there. Hope you can react to his new song YOUR CITY!

Thank you for reacting to Cnblue killing voice As much as I love this KV I would not recommend it to a first time reaction to the boys .. because it doesn't give them justice .. so please if you are interested you should react to their LIVE concerts .. that's where Yonghwa shines the most.. it's his element .. he's a spectacular performer with top notch showmanship skills that he captivates everybody once he steps onstage ❤️‍🔥 And i think this medly is targeted mostly to the korean audience to play on the nostalgic side with the older hits so i hope you really take a dive into their discography both korean and Japanese because they're totally different but equally amazing. Btw Yonghwa just released a mini album called "Your City" with the title track of the same name .. you could react to the mv and the album too because it's a no skip ..at least for me 😅 I will stop here otherwise I'll keep going on and on and on cause i want the whole world to know how amazing and talented Cnblue are ❤ Have a nice day 💝

it's too bad it was just Yong Hwa......the magic of CNBLUE is that they're a band and it's great seeing them perform live as a band. Then again, I don't think the studio at Dingo for Killing Voice is really meant for an entire band.

The killing voice inteded to highlighting the singing not dancing or band instrument playing. When CNBLUE promoting Between Us, only Yonghwa recorded for dingo because he is the vocalist.

Yonghwa and Seohyun became a couple on We Got Married. And the Banmal song that he sang was the one he composed alongside with Seohyun. I still remember I was really a fan of them during WGM as Seohyun was my bias in GG before.

Jung Yonghwa is a versatile, an all rounder artist FNC ever have in their history. He sings all kind genre. Ballad, pop, R&B, sweet romantic pop, to rocking their rock songs, he even scat-singing. His live performance is top notch. He jumps, runs even speed through live without missing a note, stable and doesnt shake at all. He is a rocker with singing techniques. Above all he singing while playing instruments (guitar or keyboard) he is the one composing songs for his solo and majority cnblue songs. Jung Yonghwa is the only FNC artist as member of KOMCA and with the most compositions. People who haven’t seen Jung Yonghwa or CNBLUE performance within your eyes, judging YH's or CNBLUE's skills in the last thing people entittled to. 🥰🥰

Finally you reacted to Jung Yong Hwa the leader of CNBLUE. Before I stan MonstaX (3rd gen group), I stan CNBLUE (the 2nd gen group) from their debut time in 2009-2010. I kinda wish they put "I'm Sorry" into the list because everytime I watch CNBLUE on stage, that is my most anticipated song because Yonghwa always perform in such high energy. Finally, a CNBLUE/Yonghwa reaction. Thank you for this! Yonghwa is definitely one of the best korean performers. CNBLUE's live performances are crazy. The only 2 korean groups that I will die to see live are EXO and CNBLUE! By the way, Yonghwa was SNSD''s Seohyun's husband in the TV show We Got Married. If I am not mistaken in one of the episodes Yonghwa said that he thought of Seohyun when he wrote the rap part of "Love Light" that says "I'm genie for you, girl". I hope my memory serves me right. 😂 Thanks again for this reaction. ❤

ahhhhhh.....minor 7ths bug you. That's pretty common bc it's such an odd half step down. What makes it weird in that one particular song is that the phrase starts on the 4th (b flat) so it's a major chord with that e flat but since the original key is F it's a minor 7th. So you're brain is playing tricks on you making you think it's a simple 1-3-5 major but since it goes back to F it's all of a sudden a minor 7. It's a slick music theory move but i can see why it catches people off guard

@@Koko3op yeah, it's not technically a minor 7th (it's a major 4th) since it's off the transposed key (it's only a minor 7th to the home key) so you're bopping along thinking it's a major 4th which is sort of the definitional pop major chord then BAM, they go back down to the home key (so e flat to F) and you're kind of shocked. If they had just stayed in the home key of F then it'd be fine, it'd just basically be a blues chord
