I love how PD always comments about the meaning of the song’s title in korean and how it translates into the english title!

Yes! I really love that they use their Korean-Amerixan background to give us a deeper understanding of songs and the Korean language/culture by extension ☺️

As a filmmaker myself I believe in the power of a title. It’s kind of a big nitpick I have with American cinema with boring titles like “the wave” “the circle” “Extraction” “escape plan” like yawn. Korean music has some really amazing titles (TXT has AMAZING titles) but it’s a bit much or it’s hard to translate and capture the nuance of a title in English so they just do a bland or easy translation. But there was an original INTENTION to deepen the song’s meaning and aesthetic so I try to help salvage that the best I can.

This is one of the 2020 songs that literally made me cry. After what they've been through, the hardship, the issues, but they still chose to comeback. I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH. PD'S RIGHT, THIS SONG GIVES US HEALING AND COMFORT😭💛
@GA0Fairy0Tail4 жыл бұрын
No doubt that the lyrics and the song reminiscence about their very successful past. About what they have lost. But then the lyrics and the MV reinforce the thought they actually haven't lost it. The members each represent a timeline. Jungshin is the Past, Minhyuk is the Present and Yonghwa is the future. You'll see how they circle each other in the MV because they mean to say that the Past, Present and the Future is connected. The members themselves talked about this in their interviews. Their past still is in the present with the memories they have and they can build on that for the future. All of them are connected. "We" are in the all of those timelines. And as you noted the MV shows how everything gets painted in Blue as the song goes on. It's the theme of their comeback. "Re-Code CNBLUE" They are recoding and repainting everything again in Blue and start anew. This song means so much to us Boice and it makes us so incredibly proud seeing other non-fans praising and feeling the song. Of course, we couldn't possibly be as sad as the CNBLUE members for everything they have lost but just think from our point of view. A fandom that went through so much shit in the last 3 years, the anxiety, the doubts, the sadness, the fear of not knowing what is gonna happen, just everything...and then you get confirmation from your favorite artist that CNBLUE will not disband. 1 year later this comeback was announced. I can't explain you how much this comeback and Then, Now and Forever means to us. It's just the peak and summary of our emotions. It's healing and embracing us all saying that we are going to happy again. That everything will be okay. It's just a very emotional and message fillled song. Thank you so much for reacting
@y.r28254 жыл бұрын
ugh I said I won't cry anymore but your comment just took away my soul, really loved this comeback and really missed our guys, they killed it again, they are truly kings and this fandom is amazing.

I have been following CNBLUE since Yonghwa and SNSD Seohyun were in WGM, and the music always hits my soft spot. After all three members finished their military services and made a comeback recently, I feel like the music has some changes, for good of course. It's still CNBLUE style, but the production becomes more mature - they are not trying to amaze you but just give you a storm cellar when all that shit is happening in real world. And I love it. No 'think-out-of-the-box' arrangement, no fancy lyrics - just pure feeling poured in the music. This comeback is so warm and comfy.

Y, Why (specifically Blue Storm concert live version) was my rabbit hole into the CNBLUE fandom. It completely blew me away and the fact that Yonghwa wrote it in his teens is even more impressive. It was my favourite song of all time for a long time until Cold Love came along and now TNF has catapulted itself right to the front. The song just makes me feel a whole lot of emotions that I can't describe and I'm saying that as someone who can't understand Korean and hence can't even fully appreciate the lyrics which I've heard is incredibly beautiful and poetic.

I first stumbled upon the song while randomly listening to new kpop releases on spotify and let me tell you, I was HOOKED, like, IMMEDIATELY SOLD!!! After hearing the first few notes and then when the vocals started to come in... it felt like softly floating in the air and flying wild through the sky at the same time.

Oh and about the guitar, they all use their old instruments. Guitar and bass are all the one that they use when they first debut. I’m not sure about the drum tho the front CNBLUE logo looks the old one too. That’s why the guitar looks chipped. Cause their album is called RE-CODE. Well it’s quite a deep meaning album and song. You can read the description of their mini album on the video that being uploaded by FNC. Thanks again for the reaction!

Actually no. They are not chipped because they are old. Those are fender relics. Those guitars are sold that way. They are old in the sense that the members bought them years ago but the looks of the guitars are fender's designs

I’m sort of the opposite in that emotional songs really find resonance with me. I gravitate to them. They don’t always hit, but I live for those moments in songs when I can feel that emotional connection with the music. So this song, specifically, hits me. It felt like a healing song (as you said). It felt therapeutic. It felt like a release. And because of that, I really enjoyed it. I’m familiar with CNBLUE in name only, and if they have more like this and along the pop/rock vibe, I’m about to go digging into another group and that’s really exciting. Keep on keeping on everyone! Cheers!

I'm a long time BOICE and believe this was the best way they could have come back. At its soul, I believe this song was a way for CNBLUE and BOICE to heal and move on together. My favorite part of the song are the lyrics where we apologizes for having to cancel plans because he's not doing well. It has so much meaning and depth to it and also hits home for anyone who has struggled mentally and has been in that situation before. Thank you for reacting to this song and your analysis.
