CNC 3018 with Fusion 360

I had trouble using my cheap 3018 CNC machine from Banggood with Fusion 360. This is a short video about how I have modified the Gcode to make Fusion 360 files work with my CNC machine.

this was great, I just got a 3018 with grbl control (from a different brand, but pretty much identical) and will definitely come back to this as soon as I have problems with the G-code

Thank you for this informative video. I just got a Chinese cnc machine from FoxAlien, WM3020. When I try to run my G code on the program it seems to send my Z all the way to the highest and reach the Z limit so it does require a little playing around with the initial G code to get these machines to work.

Thanks for sharing. One of the options of the machine allows you to remove the tools commands directly. You gave me a tip with the G28 Safe Retracts, so I no longer have to edit the GCODE afterwards :)

I do the same mods in the gcode, and another one at the end of the code to come back to the zero (x,y), that allow me to do many parts at the same place. (Sorry for my english, i'm french...) Good vidéo!

May 18, 2020 I’m new to cam and have recently joined Fusion 360. Apparently setting “G28 Safe retracts" to "No" is no longer an option. The options now are “G28, G53 and Clearance Height”. Would you have any suggestions as to which option to use. I’m thinking “Clearance Height” but not sure. Thanks
