Mitch, I got your plans a few years ago and built this same foam cutter, it was very easy a definitely in my budget, now I'm looking at building a CNC router, have you done one on these in the same design area as the foam cutter, if so I'd love to see your plans and BOM. Please let me know if you have anything or can recommend a good system.

Boar Hog not really it's not that good at cutting foam wings did you notice the wire pinged out of the foam I mean it was still cutting foam when the machine was turned off its over engineering at its finest

nice job but that is only 2 axis cutting. If both "towers" moved independently that would be a 3rd and 4th axis.. if you added rotation to the work holder, that would be a full 5 axis machine. with a 4 axis machine you could cut a cone or tapers. with the added 5th axis, you could rotate it and cut it on edge. good job tho.. :)

They moved at the same rate. Makes it a 2 axis table plus z makes 3.

I bought some plans for this exact machine for around $10 then I found a website giving the exact plans away for free. The guy I bought them from claims to own the copyright. Someone copied someone I don't know who. Anyway, what driver board are you using?

This machine is for sale. It has been used very little. I plan on listing on ebay this Sunday. Shipping will be about $100 the two towers are fairly heavy.
