During the war in Iraq & Afghanistan, Connie saw that many KIA couldn't get home to their families in small town areas without a huge logistics hassle. He outfitted several Falcon corporate jets, and hired pilots to fly these KIA Soldiers from Dover AFB home to their families in an honorable fashion. He does this on his own dime. Connie Kalitta is a true unsung American Hero. Connie's Angel Flights kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2XYpKNjgbt6qNU

Suck Squeeze Bang Blow = GO in the Jet Age. I've worked over 25 yrs in the Aerospace & other highly critical industries championed & still fueled right here in the good 'ol USA! I'm blessed to be able to work for a company that started in a garage 45 yrs ago by my Dad. Amazing! Now our parts are in the air right now on Airbus A380's, Boeing 737's, Embraer Turbo Props, & more!! The scope of it all is just amazing. So blessed & proud to be a small part of the bigger picture. The American Dream is still alive everywhere & you can see it when your looking for the good around you everyday! Very grateful to Titans for what they bring to the table. We need you in this great country! Proud of you for what you & your crew do every day! 🙏🙏 If you can dream it & you can mean it, then you can achieve it!!

On February 5, 2006 I flew on a Kalitta Air 747 from Cleveland to Seattle transporting a 200t shear for our steel mill that was down. I was able to sit in the cock pit for take off and landing. What and experience! Two things that stuck in my mind. How tall a 747 is and how young my pilot was!
@CraigNAnderson
@CraigNAnderson 4 жыл бұрын
You are right, the shear being transported, was a 200 Ton cutting capacity, not physical weight. I know they needed a mobile crane, along with the scissor lift platform to get it in the plane!

Very Impressive... I live in Michigan and all I knew about Kalitta is what I learned in a movie about Shirley Muldowney ..
@mr.intensity2685
@mr.intensity2685 4 жыл бұрын
There's a lot of "creative license" in that movie. I have the DVD with bonus interviews. Shirley said that while Connie did have an altercation with her son, it wasn't as serious as it was portrayed, same with the altercation with Shirley and her ex-husband, whom she said really got a raw deal. I read his online obituary, and it seems like he (Jack Muldowney) often came to see her race. Also, Don Garlits was furious with the hillbilly from Deliverance (Bill McKinney) portraying him, especially just standing around eating a banana while Shirley set that track record during her attempt to obtain her competition driver's license. Garlits didn't recall exactly what he was doing, but he sure wasn't eating a banana.

Cheaper material? Lighter weight? Probably both. Certainly not for durability... I realize weight is EVERTHING in the aviation world.... but, when you're Connie Kalitta, the SOLE owner of a private airline (no shareholders) you may choose to sacrifice a little weight in exchange for durability. Just my uneducated guess, that's all.

With that nice machine and Tim has a chip auger with a plastic container. With a nice shop like that why didn’t they buy the chip conveyor and put a barrel under there. It would make clean up faster and easier and your not paying a experienced machinist wage to clean the chips off the floor when it over flows.
