Your English is better than many native English speakers. I grew up in Florida and it's embarrassing how poor some people's grammar is in this country. You should ignore any negative comments about your speech. I like your videos!

A relitivly simple design and program. But, this shows, no matter how simple the part, failure of the part can really cause catastrophic damage. There are ways CNC tooling bolsters the strength of the part. The beauty of multi axis CNC, and advanced metullargy in the cutting tools, is all the fine measuring is done while still in the first set-up. High degree of persicion is had by the way the cutting tool is held to minimize tool runout. Pressing a tool into its holder whilst utilizing heat is the best way. Using a "Collett" to hold the cutting tool is one of the least percise way to limit runout. By pushing the "envelope" for better, stronger, higher performing parts, Roger advances the "performance sciences!" Cheers

Well nice to be here, we see you are machining our favorite aluminum grade for three reasons as designers whoa re machinists we love this material in T6 for what we machine. We like your project job specific tool like your vise holder for the torquing operation before boring work. Thank you Lance & Patrick.

If you dont mind me asking what CAM are you using? I have a Tormach 1100 and use Solidworks with HSM. I find that my holes come out faceted when I post them from my CAM. I thought it was my machine since it is stepper drives instead of servo but I can make the exact same shape in conversational at the machine and it comes out perfect, so I am thinking it is my CAM. By trade I am a CMM programmer and just started machining with CAM and CNC.

Hi! I use FeatureCam for my programming but my machine is way too old to even think of high speed milling. It does counter balance with powerfull servo and spindle motor though! I don't know if your CAM software gives you the ability to edit post processor but it might just need some refinement. A circle should be a single G2 or G3 code with in and out linear interpolation, if it is made of several line it does create a few problem as you are experiencing. It's either not outputting enough "segment" to be smooth or the controller gets over-ride with data to read and has to slow down after each move to process the next few line. It also make for some really long/heavy program. I edit a lot my post processor for different purpose.

You have a hobbiest CNC that does a good job for working at home. The tool holders are not high end. This will show in the work you do. Being that you are in the trade, you have a good eye for the little anomalies that pop up from time to time. HASS CNC does a full 50-minute video on tool-holders and how they affect holes and other precision work. I highly recommend it.

How do you measure the accuracy of the parts by hand when every fraction of a mm counts on internal parts. Do you use a computer guided cutter?
@wecklt5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan! The critical dimension of the rods are all done on the same setup to ensure the machining is flat, perpendicular and that the rod lenght from both bore center is fine. Once I am done with them I get the big end honed to customer specification. Also the rod is completely machined on a CNC machine so it leave very little space for error.

Can you name the tools used in CNC machine for making this connection rod

Hi! These are all standard tool, Flat End mill, Reamer, Drill, chamfering tool, stamping tool (.045" ball end mill) and also ball end mill for the radiuses. Is there any tool in particular you'd like to get information on ?

Could you make a one of these for me if I give u one to go by
@wecklt5 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles, I don't think you would like the price of a one-off set. I might do a kit for my LS engine one day but I have no intention of making and selling aftermarket aluminum rods; just too much step involved and they all need the big end honed before using them.
@charlesrose90335 жыл бұрын
