Very cool project! Doubly cool to see someone whip out a welder for an element14 video, big thumbs up

A good approach and excellent results. There are KVM extenders if you needed to do this with longer cables

Thanks! I think I am going to build a little box, or find a nice metal enclosure for the computer and just keep it close under the machine.

I have the same problem with my CNC, I will try to solve it like you did. Thanks for the idea!

That looks pretty awesome and a great idea! How does the Arduino talk to the computer running Mach4? Will this work with Mach3? Wouldn’t the laser etch some some labels into the acrylic?
@DaveMcAnulty2 жыл бұрын
The Arduino just pretends to be a usb keyboard.

Might there be a wiring diagram for this project?

How did you end up routing the HDMI all the way to the computer without it getting to be a mess? Also, technically, the HDMI on the touchscreen is an input :)
@kalebclark58262 жыл бұрын
The old monitor arm has channels for routing cables. And I moved the computer under the CNC, so its not that much of a mess with the cables.

Meanwhile, I'm using a 20 year old Dell laptop because I'm still using Mach3 with a parallel port.

I am not. Why do you ask?

@@kalebclark5826 it would seem a little awkward to have the controls left side of the screen
@kalebclark58262 жыл бұрын
@@davidkclayton Ahh. The origin I use is front left of the machine, so when I am using this thing I am usually looking at that position. The device is front right of the machine, so when I operate it I am reaching over with my right hand.
