DCD Laser & CNC it’s really nice being able to get in there and tighten and losses without having to rotate the bit with my other hand.

Wow, I don't know why I have never thought about not having to constantly probe the z-height. I came for the review of the collet, but now all of a sudden I have bits on my shopping list. Also, check your Amazon links in your description. There are 3 copies of the Amana bit set.

The collet collars is freaking awesome! Not having to re-set the z height would be great!

MakeTinkerShare you have no idea how much I like the idea of not having to mess with resetting.

Recommend you don't tighten a collet/collett nut without a bit in it; it can distort and damage the collet. I bought a three collet kit for my PC-7518, and it is really nice. I didn't realize the bit collars are fixed in place.
@ManCrafting5 жыл бұрын
Richard Farwell good tip. Thanks. I wouldn’t normally, but I wasn’t confident I would film the process without cutting myself. 🤣

@@ManCrafting Understand that -- having reached under the router (with the dust shoe ON so I can't see the bit) and scraped my knuckles -- Doh! At least the router's off. ;-)

I think we’ve all been there. Router bites from router bits. Dang they are sharp.

Its funny I did these stoppers a week ago to my stock bits with drill stops very nice. How is the collet for sliping bits?
@ManCrafting5 жыл бұрын
Todd Molloy I haven’t had any slippage. Extremely well made.

6-Points of Locking/UnLocking Points... SWEET SETUP! Do they make buts for Aluminum or Steel, as well as Wood & PVC? What would you recommend for an Automatic/Directional Oiler? I'd like to have an Automated System with filtering... I'd love to have a CNC Machine for Custom Small Engine Parts!🤔 Thank's for sharing! Take care, 🤓 -Thomas Western Washington State

Thanks for watching. There are definitely some guys that are doing amazing machining with the Shapeoko platform. I'd check out @vince.fab on Instagram for some idea of what all is possible. He's doing lots of custom engine parts. Also, Winston on the Carbide3D channel is doing a lot of aluminum machining. Precision Bits does carry bits for metal. I just took a look at their site and found this. www.precisebits.com/gateways/EndMillsHome.htm

Do you just use the bigger 1/4 inch bits? Most of my bits are 1/8
@ManCrafting5 жыл бұрын
Hey John, I didn't focus on it in the video, but the kit came with 1/8" and 1/4" collets. They also make the bits with the precision collars in the 1/8 size as well.
