Awesome! You're really making me look bad. This just reminded me that I got halfway through a similar project a couple years ago and completely forgot about it. I just found the lower half in my drawer of remnants. Now I'm going to have to get mine up and running too!

Made one of these for my Tormach a while back, works great the only thing is you will find that you don’t need as many nozzles and that they tend to get in the way of some operations.

yeah I think it's possible that they're going to get into way however it being magnetic it's really easy to pull off.

@@CNC4XR7 I also put valve before each nozzle to control the flow and which direction it was coming from. I love it other than getting in the way of a few things its awesome. When I am done with an operation there is no chip anywhere on my table or part.

very nice job . i have one concern that the magnets going to magnetize the spindle and that going to end up with same small electric charges throw the bearings and destroy them slowly . am not sure tho
@CNC4XR7
@CNC4XR7 4 жыл бұрын
The magnets are 3mm thick, and the magnetic pull is on the flat side not really much on the edge. I think it will be fine.

I suggest unplugging the pump from the tube and push to connect fittings and see what the flow actually is. Those fittings and tube size are incredibly restrictive. I'll upload some video of my coolant on the Tormach with both a 1/8 and a 1/4 hp pump for comparison.

Thanks Bill, The small coolant pump I started with is really meant for a Lathe setup. With it's 3 gal capacity there's not much flow. Even just from the OEM 3/8" line straight off the pump. I just finished up a new coolant pump system with filtration and wash down hose. It will post Monday still editing the video. The new system has 1/2" line to the coolant ring.

I love it, but im curious if you can get enough flow through just a single 8mm input port? even with a bigger pump will it have the capacity to get a good flow/pressure?
@CNC4XR7
@CNC4XR7 4 жыл бұрын
I have changed the input to 12.7mm or 1/2" working well now. follow up next and new coolant filter and pump.
