Just curious as to how LED and Laser Light technology performs in the snow. I would assume they produce less heat than traditional headlights. Wouldn't they collect more snow and ice?

What you think about some German cars that the brake pads don't fit the brake disk by a couple of millimeters so you have to service the brake disk every time you have to replace the brake pads, or BMW that do not have oil stick to measure the oil level, what if the electronic sensor fail like they often do after a couple of years on such a crucial area?

I am REALLY surprised that CNET is recommending aftermarket HID headlights on halogen reflector based housings... just amazing. The only thing that those will do, is blind EVERYONE on the road.. hell no wondering why many of those kits are illegal on many states of the US. If your car doesn't have projector based headlights, you shouldn't be installing xenon bulbs... the right way is to retrofit proper HID projectors into your car, which is not that hard at all. And for Jaimie asking CNET, I'll answer that YES, LED headlights are 100% possible (and much better option than HID) to install, especially into older cars. JW SPEAKER is a company that makes factory quality LED headlights (full LED projector headlights that are DOT approved and 100% street legal) for a variety of cars with 7", 5.75", and 4.5" round headlights. They even make LED headlights for cars with squared headlights, 6x4" and 7x5", they're outstanding modern headlight solutions. If you have the money for LED headlights, there's no better option, you'll be amazed on how well they work.

Ricardo Gutierrez I was about to make a post about this too. Thank you for the detailed comment. I wish more people would get educated on this topic so less of us are blinded at night when an oncoming car has HID bulbs on a non-projector headlight.

Thank you. I really, really despise after market headlights. Wish there was a more, rigorous follow on them. Only OEM, tested, rated replacements be available.

You should almost never use HID upgrade kits on older cars a the beam focus pattern in the lens is not set up for this kind of light and will cause serious glare to oncoming vehicles even on low beam. Also they are prone to overheating due to the much higher temperatures involved. Again the lens was never designed for these. In summary they are a safety risk to others but also to you.

@roguedogx9 жыл бұрын
Jojo Daley but if memory serves they are not actually making cars right now, last Veryon was delivered earlier this year, so maybe that is why they were not mentioned.
@chillout11099 жыл бұрын
Jojo Daley Yes, Bugatti is part of VW. Maybe Cooley just omitted it by mistake. Or maybe he didn't consider it a current car maker since Bugatti stopped its vehicle production with the Veyron La Finale back in March 2015. Rumours are that the next production car, rumoured to be a replacement of the Veyron, will go into production in 2016. So perhaps until then, Bugatti is technically not a car maker at the moment.

FYI, you don't have to buy the $100 kit from Honda. All you need is a Lightning-HDMI adapter and a USB-Lightning cable. You can buy that anywhere for a lot less. Even the dealer I bought my CR-V from would not sell me Honda's kit.
@hirby539 жыл бұрын
i will always question the fact of why honda never put the 3.5 pilot engine in the CR-V, it just seems like a option that should have always been available.

@Leggir8 жыл бұрын
That blind spot monitoring on the CR-V is stupid. If I intend on turning right, I'm looking at the right mirror, which is where it it should show the blind spot, not on the dash. On the 2015 CR-V I drove for a week, did a 600 km trip which took 36L. Which is 47 UK*MPG, OMG. In fact over the week which included city driving and long highways, my overall distance covered was 2036km and averaged 42 UK*MPG, nice.

If you'll review cars from other markets, consider the Nissan Patrol. It's very popular in the UAE and it's expensive even in the used car market.
@electrictroy20108 жыл бұрын
Yeah like passing a truck is so difficult. Just back-away 100 feet, slide a little to left to see if traffic is clear, and then pass . LED headlamps cost thousands to replace. That's a ripoff .
@matthewramdeen34549 жыл бұрын
Just thought I'd point out.... Be careful of how you suggest that people buy HID kits willy nilly. You don't just put HID bulbs inside a headlamp and call it a day. You need to get a projector first. Anything else and your beam is gonna scatter all over the place and blinding oncoming drivers.
@eduardoig179 жыл бұрын
i don't think all cars should be required to have latches. like i have a 2013 genesis coupe. why does a sport car need that? it would be super hard to get a kid in and out of that
@MouseyBusiness9 жыл бұрын
eduardoig17 They need to come standard. Just because it's a sports car doesn't mean not a single person who owns one probably wont put a car seat in it.
@bustex18 жыл бұрын
+BigTMoney121 should be optional i dont see people buying an slk and putting a child seat in it. If you want one for certain models dealer can put it in.
@electrictroy20108 жыл бұрын
+eduardoig17 I put kids in my 2-door cars, and for carmakers it's cheaper to carry just ONE type of seat (with latch) rather than two seats. WHAT I don't understand is why parents keep removing the kid car seat. I just leave mine permanently .

Did you just suggest after market HIDs?!?! No no no no no! HID bulbs have their light in a different location than halogens, which means that the existing reflectors are not tuned properly. The lights will scatter any which way, not lighting up the road for you and blinding oncoming drivers. It's a bad idea all around.
@FormulaJ879 жыл бұрын
The easiest head light upgrade you can do is replacing the stock bulb with upgrade version bulb. you can check your vehicle light spec in this Philips site. www.philipsautolighting.com/ajax_select.php stores.ebay.com/formulaj87/

Guys get your stuff right- High-intensity DISCHARGE! And one more thing stick to what the manufacturer has designed for your car! Have you seen any factory HID without projectors? Guess what- there is a reason for that! Also cheap ballasts, bulbs, leds and all that crap THAT YOUR CAR WAS NOT DESIGNED for can easily fry your car- not really but relays, light control modules, harnesses, headlight assemblies... and while it's highly unlikely to torch your car the above sometimes could be very expensive for otherwise a very solid part that rarely goes bad.
