Alexander, it depends on what carrier you use. The M9 is about or was 600.00,which is still cheaper by 200.00 than a 64 gig so Phone, and memory is expandable up to 200 gigs,plus the 32 gigs on board( take that I Phone). Graphics on HTC are great,call quality is great, and speakers are excellent. Only drawback is it doesn't take great pictures( although my HTC Rezound did). So Alexander,if you want an overall good phone that's cheaper than I Phone, and has gorilla glass( it's a durable screen glass that helps absorb impact when dropped), consider HTC M9. If you want a phone that is good overall like M9, but takes great pictures, consider LG G4 as a second option. Both will be great and can do just about anything. But try both out and see what you think.

$220 for Verykool Quantum is affordable? Asus Zenfone 2 is releasing in March 2015 for $199 off contract and for that you get a phone equivalent to 2014 flagships. And it looks freaking sick. Moto g is one of the best and cheapest phones you can buy as of right now they are sold for $180 off contract but you can buy one for $60 with prepaid and the good thing about it is you don't have to activate it and you are basically saving $120

I dont get why the LG G3 S is even in that list. Yeah it may not be as good as the G3, but if you look at the internals, it has the same chipset, GPU, and CPU as the Moto G. I personally own the G3 S and needless to say, it's a good performer and battery life is awesome. CNET should really do their research first.

The only cons it has from my experience are the cameras and the little storage it has (i have a serious problem with the storage rn and it's making the phone die slowly) (but i have used it as an small umbrella once and it has survived many drops so im not so mad with it) (i still need a new phone tho)

As much as they say \avoid these phones', a couple of these would be fine for the aging generation. He's right in saying you get what you pay for, but for some, all they need are low end phones. Not everyone uses their phones for multimedia, video streaming, or high end gaming. For those of us that do, I think we would already know where to look for our next gen phones already.

My first smart phone was the original Galaxy. Then I had a Galaxy SIII and now I have the S5. I can't tell a difference between the S5 and the original Galaxy I owned other than screen size and resolution of the camera which I rarely if ever use. Oh, and 4g versus 3g of course. I have a ZTE ZMAX, and i don't give damn what anyone says about it. I love it. It does everything that a top notch smartphone does, except play graphically intensive games. Takes some pretty damn good pictures as well. It's a great budget phone when you don't wan't to pay 600+ dollars for the new Samsung Galaxy. That's wasting money! Unless you wan't to pay $200, and sign a binding contract with AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, or Verizon. There are cheaper alternatives that are almost just as good. Don't be so closed minded people!
