This is alot of work because they are still using traditional way of harvesting. Here in Philippines we already using modern machinery to harvest. It’s take alot of hard work. My father is a farmer and I experienced first hand what Liziqi is doing in the video. The grains are actually really itchy especially if you dry them under the sun. You needs to mix them everynow and then so that they will dry evenly. It’s so hard that Philippine government take the Farmers for granted. They prefer to talk about something less important in my opinion. It’s really disappointing because my country is an agricultural yet the farmers are often neglected. I really admire Lizi because she’s showing the true aspects of life. I wished many Filipinos will see this particular video.

Your video recalls my memory of my childhood so much. I remember when I was a kid, I didn't want to go to kindergarten school, I cried my eyes out because I just wanted to follow my mom to the rice field. My mom, of course, did not let me follow, but she told that if I was nice at school, she would let me go after school then. Every day, after school I ran as fast as I could to the rice field, just looking her working and picked up some rice to smell. I really missed that smell, that scenery and the image of my peaceful village. Your video makes me think of the way I value my life. The farmers, throughout centuries, have been spending their lives on the fields with their faces given to earth and backs given to sky. Therefore, this video is so meaningful. It shows not only the beauty of the countryside, but also the beauty of wet rice agriculture - the culture that has been raising many many generations of Asian people. I feel touched, I feel grateful and proud of being a Vietnamese (most of Asians share the same agriculture). Thank you so much for making this video about growing wet rice progress. Aaaahhhh, eating freshly grown rice from the fields! something that one has to experience in order to know how wonderful it tastes. I totally remember eating that at my grandparents' house in southern China. it's so fresh, aromatic, and delicious that you can eat it straight w/o anything else. As a tiny kid at that time I used to eat 3 BIG bowls at every meal to a point that they always laughed at me (friendly). haha. The best part, the brown crusts, are so crunchy and scrumptious.... Now I miss my grandparents and their farm. About the part beating the rice stock to harvest the grain, there is a similar device with foot pedals that spin a big roller inside the bin. On the roller there are spikes/steel loops to strip off the rice kernels. My grandparents used it, which seems little easier with feet doing the work while holding the rice stock by hand, than throwing with arms (shoulders must be aching at night!!!!). For those who never have been in a rice paddy, the biggest annoyance are the leeches. Those blood suckers are nasty, fearsome, and hard to get off your legs. They definitely will scare away city slickers. so be prepared! hahahaha 李子柒,中秋快乐!
@whirlwinds50035 жыл бұрын
I help my parents when I was a kid. We did it it with feet, much easier. There will be bamboo pole or a half wall where we can hold while crushing those rice grain from stalks with feet. It is not fun as rice grains have tiny yet pointed edges which can be painful at the beginning.

That is why I find Mao Zedong so stupid. China has always been agriculture country, then he did industrialize by FORCING MILLIONS from the farm. thus killing MILLIONS of people. Now in China, many people left their home town with 61 millions children living with their grand parent and only met their parent ONCE PER YEAR. Farmers are always need because food is the basis of life.

Everything is so beautiful in her camera. She presents everything in a peaceful way and makes it seem easy. I watch this video with tears. I know everything in rural life is tough. I have spent a few years in rural China. Working in the field was torture to me. The weather is hot and humid in summer, sweats along body all day long. Insects bite. Crops poke and make your itch. Every day, muscles ache and are sore. The wind cuts your skin like a knife in winter when you work outdoor. The happiness is only after harvest, during mid-autumn festival and spring festival (Chinese new year). Foods taste much better after hard work and when they are fresh or homemade. Its sad that this is all completely fake.. you do realise these channels are commissioned by the (authoritarian) chinese government as basically pro chinese propaganda videos made for a western audience. Rural china is certainly not like this at all whatsoever no one actually lives like this in real life.. its an idyllic dream of what living in the country must be really like for people who live in cities. These videos are highly scripted edited and directed by a team of people trying to make it look as perfect as possible and seem normal. Sadly normal people in china cant access social media like youtube/facebook you do realise so stuff like this cant come from a normal person.. its all part of a massive program to make china look good to westerners. In fact its one of the worst places in the world in terms of human rights.. all the freedoms we take for granted here in the west like freedom of speech ect you dont have there.. its ruled over by someone who now can basically rule for life and is basically an autocratic dictator. its become a police state where people are literally ranked on a social credit points system like in black mirror and if you are ranked low you cant fly on planes and stuf.. its true look it up.

What @David 527 says is partly true: the video looks like an idyllic dream, almost like a paradise on earth, highly edited, police state, etc. But I would not say that it is "completely fake", 100% fake, because actually many people do these things. What @贾旭瑞 says is also true, this is part of the life of the farmers, just not so idealized, so "free", so perfect. Otherwise, why so people many emigrate to the cities? So, @luvslyfe1, what is the "misinformation", which phrase from David's comment is false, whether you like it or not? At the same time, I would not idealize either the West.
@roro-mm7cc5 жыл бұрын
@@luvslyfe1 please educate yourself stop being so naive.. do you really think ppl ACTUALLY live like this with this perfect garden with literally all possible plants. no you dimbo lots of people had to work hard to create this paradise garden (which is a set). My family owns a rice field, my god the amount of work!!!! I often have to help whenever I’m home and it’s so hard. Even when they’re still growing they need to be attended because so many birds are eating the grains and we don’t use scarecrows anymore since the birds are not scared of them, so we put all these ropes all throughout the field and we have to pull them whenever birds are eating so they’ll flew away. But the real work is when you harvest them. So. Much. Work. That’s why in my country we are always taught to respect the rice, and not just because its the main part of our meal but because of the work that goes into producing them.

I love her videos!! But wish she would stay consistent with the subtitles....some videos have them, while others leave u guessing at everything....but her dedication is top notch!💙
