Interestingly enough, Snake Island is well known strait from the Antique times. It was called Leuke (White Island) by the Ancient Greeks and considered a resting place of Achilles (Hero of the Trojan War). The was a temple dedicated to the Greek god Apollo there, but later it was dismantled and rebuild into a lighthouse (what an archeological tragedy) during the Russian Empire period

I there is more that one cat and it looked very healthy. I had a cat in Cyprus which was very adept at catching snakes and lizards, I expect sea creatures and birds eggs are on the menu too.

That big fat tabby cat looked like the latest in a long line of cats on that island. That is not unusual where lighthouse keepers and sailors are or even shepherds for summer grazing.
