The turret gets tossed when the ammunition of the tank explodes. Many of these tanks have an automated loader for the shells, which are arranged in a circle around the periphery of the turret. There is no separation of the ammunition from the crew,- so when the ammunition explodes, they have no protection.

@@sidghurye it is caused by having all the ammo stuffed under the turret floor to feed the autoloader. Any hit from above the turret and many hits through the sides will hit the ammo causing a catastrophic explosion. By contrast on resent western tanks the ammo is isolated and at least in the case of the US M1 there is a door that automatically closes between the turret and ammo in the back of the turret, and hatches above the ammo to vent the explosion. The T-14 Armata puts all the crew in the hull so the tank just launches the turret but doesn't kill the crew.

Haste the only modern equipment they have is that Iskander and some of their other modern missiles and to some extent the Ka 52 attack helicopter. I say to some extent because it cannot defeat the Star Streak missiles.The others it can cope up with so it is a partial success. That's about it,no effective Electronic countermeasures,no effective tanks or convoy protection,no modern anti drone systems,the convoys are vulnerable to even Turkish drones and other drones,no effective Electronic jamming systems. One would have expected heavy saturation using Electronic countermeasures systems and drone jamming systems including some revolutionary systems. Also they used poor military tactics,attacked too thinly over a huge front ,no mass concentration. As an American I can't even imagine the fear that is likely rippling through the Polish people as they watch Ukraine being demolished city by city. Even after 75 yrs the memory of the destruction done to Poland during WWII can never be forgotten. I am just hoping for a miracle here and praying that peace will happen very soon. Так что да, там даже школьник с них может быть "ногибатором",просто 1 выстрел стоит гдето пол ляма баксов, так что без "спонсорства" обычными дешовыми рпг много бы не навоевали.

I do not wish to take sides, but there are official UN reports of Azov massacres and rapes in the Donbass before this official travesty of a war broke out. The Azov brigades activities in the Donbass were sanctioned by the Ukrainian government. The war crimes you refer to have been claimed by Zelensky. The Russian authorities have denied them and they should be subject to an impartial investigation by the UN and not by self appointed Western authorities. Please remember that Zelensky released prisoners and allowed for the distribution of weapons among the Ukrainian people to fight Russia and that this has lead to LAWLESSNESS IN MANY UKRAINIAN CITIES. Do the maths. Accusations are not fact. One has to consider who benefits from the accusation.
