If a person is continually flip-flopping on an issue, then I agree that it's an issue. But for a person to change stance on an issue once is a sign of intelligence and humility - the ability to learn, and change a stance as more information and understanding is gained. Given a choice, I'd have far more trust in people who change their position and give clear, coherent explanation for the reasons for that change, than people who refuse to even admit the possibility of being wrong.
