The world is already at war. Right now, we in the west are preparing. We see the build up of forces and alliances. The difference is that while Russia, North Korea and Iran are losing troops, we are holding back, studying, and building up. Forces are massing in Finland. There is a US carrier group targetting Iran and a seperate one near the Red Sea from different accounts. Japan, South Korea, Australia and Canada have stepped up their militaries and presence in the Pacific. If Putin does not stand down, it will only escalate.
@libertarianbydefaultКүн бұрын
That is so not true. :D If the West REALLY thought Russia was a threat, then I would expect western military to be brought into proper order, industrial base fixed, etc. What do you see? You see absolutely pathetic European armies, you see 5% AD coverage in Europe, you see completely inability to produce anything in any meaningful quantities, everything is a struggle: artillery shells, missiles, artillery pieces, armoured vehicles, etc. Everything is manufactured slowly, with great pain and at exorbitant costs. The armies themselves are ludicrous - tiny, untrained for any real conflict. And it is not getting better. Why? - Because western leadership may repeat 1000 times that "If Putin takes Ukraine, he will come after us next!", but the they know it is not true - their REAL actions speak louder than any words. There is only one western military that can carry a punch and that is the US. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. When people say NATO they mean the US.
@AdrianLeeMagillКүн бұрын
@@libertarianbydefault Nonsense. The west is doing exactly what the US did in WWII, by building up their militaries while the conflct goes on. Then, when they enter the fight, they have the most modern weapons and given the fact that many of these military professionals were in places like Afghanistan, Iraq and a number of other conflicts, they have the experience and training to better survive the conflict. As far as military procurement goes, the US is, of course, top of the heap. However, if you look at the military growth in recent and coming months/years, you can see the west better prepared than Russia or China for conflict. Australia, the UK, Canada and a host of European nations are all stepping up their military spending. Russia, meanwhile, has a failing economy and cannot afford, or produce, anything modern for the fight. Ukraine decimated their navy with no boats of the their own. That says a lot. The other eastern militaries have no experience in conflict, though they talk a good talk. (If you want to defeat the North Koreans, just introduce them to porn, apparently.) I am afraid your analysis does not add up. Slava Ukraine.

@@AdrianLeeMagill There is a problem with this. Shall I start listing? The US (and EU too, obviously) is physically incapable of producing anything in relevant quantities: AD systems, AD interceptors, artillery pieces, artillery shells, missiles, armoured vehicles, you name it.THAT is what the wars are fought with and won with. Russia, a single country, is outproducing the collective West. If you say "that is not true!" at this point - go listen to western officials admitting time and time again that "we do not have anything else to give, we cannot give Ukraine this or that because we do not have it". You may think: well, that is not a problem, we can step up the production if we wanted. Wrong. MICs of the west are profit driven, they have no surge capacity whatsoever, the cannot increase production because it will hurt their business model. They will demand huge contracts for decades to come if you ask of them to open additional production lines. All is lost then?! - No. If the war comes, the US and probably some other countries will cut the BS and the governments will take military industry into its own hands, i.e. what has always been the case in the USSR and Russia. Next: western equipment, as it has turned out, is not wunderwaffe. No game changers, no miracles. It is on par at best, it is often subpar. Couple that with exorbitant costs and low production volumes and you get the picture. Next: the US (and European armies even less so) have not had any real success in any of the wars they have started, against MUCH smaller and weaker opponents. Sure, you see the "shock & awe" bombing campaign and then what? You then see decades of stagnation, failure to achieve any objectives and a subsequent costly withdrawal. Yes, American soldiers have seen "some" combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sure. That has zero in common with what they would face in a real war against a pier opponent. Ukrainian soldiers are a lot more experienced by now (those still alive) than any western soldiers. The US has only one real trump card: its power projection capability - its 800 bases around the world. European armies are laughable. There is no NATO without the US. Russia's economy is booming. But to know that you need to actually care enough to look into it. Did you? Or are you simply going by the "Oh, the inflation in Russia! Oh, the interests rate in Russia!"? Do you actually understand what is behind all those numbers? How many years have you been waiting for Russian economy to collapse? Or for Russia to run out ammunition? Or tanks? Keep waiting. Last, we have only touched on the Russians here, but if there is a conflict with NATO, you can definitely expect China to step it up. Not because they "love Russia", that is not a reason to do anything. But because it is in their national interests. And China will outproduce the West tenfold in a blink of an eye. They have capacity to produce in a month more missiles that the US has in its stockpiles. So, do it mean that the West would just fold and lose? No, of course not. It will escalate to nukes pretty soon. And even though nuclear capability of the West is overall lower than the opposing side's, it is still enough to cause global annihilation.

This leaves us with only China to worry about going forward We are also sending China the message that we won't allow them to walk into Taiwan (a country that makes 85% of the world's highest performing computer chips). We (as the US) support friends. We COULD have given Ukraine enough to squash this threat in a couple months, instead we have allowed Europe to get scared that the US won't always be there and they have spent the last 3 years shifting their military budgets and increased in by trillions over the next decade. Inflation is at 2.4%, unemployment is at 4.0, interest rates are being cut, stocks are at an all time high, and gas is only about 5% higher than it was 3 summers ago. Not sure how much more you want after a global shut down 4 years ago and a previous president that walked away with an illness killing over a million Americans alone and handing off an economy that had a net loss of jobs for the 1st time since Hoover. If you aren't doing well in this economy, you either aren't trying or you need to get some classes to gain a useful skill. Figure it out. Of course, you'll claim all these numbers are Trumps work...right? When we have identical numbers in February you'll ignore the fact that it takes almost a year for policy changes to show up in the economy and you'll claim it's all the work of Trump...right? If only you all knee enough to understand how absolutely foolish you look. We'll have ANOTHER Dem president in 4 years to go in and clean up this massive mess you all decided to create again. Somehow, y'all forgot why he got voted out last time....remember when we didn't have toilet paper and his kids were skimming profits off medical devices by giving contracts to a couple buddies who had no expeirence? Yeah...I'm sure this is going to go SO much better. Let's nominate a child predator as the AG and see where we go from there.

That is an act of war by those countries. Do you understand that? If Ukraine wants to attack Russia, if it wants to send drones and its own missiles, fired by them, into Russia - sure, whatever. The problem is that yours are filled with a sentiment - you really want them to be true, you appeal to emotions and other nebulous concepts, but what you say has is not based on reality. That is all.
