That an untrained 20 year-old was able to climb on a roof, crawl on it in clear view of yelling witnesses in an area supposedly surrounded by secret services and municipal police, get into position with his weapon and fire at a presidential candidate before being taken down is extraordinary. It's not like Trump was speaking on a city street surrounded by dozens of tall buildings and multiple balconies. No, it was in an isolated area, with just a couple of roofs close to the rally and in plain view of security services. I find myself dumbfounded.

CNN makes the point that he was noticed acting suspiciously by the local police, but CNN does not tell their viewers that he was noticed acting suspiciously a full 26 minutes before the shooting. 26 minutes is a lot longer than this bs 1 minute and 57 second time frame. It was 26 minutes when the local police notified the Secret Service of his odd behavior. What isn't clear yet is if the Secret Service made any attempts to monitor him after they were notified. Also, an eyewitness said he alerted police about him at least 4 minutes before the shooting and that's why a policeman climbed the outside building and saw the gunman before he shot. CNN's 1 minute 57 timeline is not accurate and really provides some cover for the Secret Service's failure by making it sound like they had no time to prevent this. They were tipped off about him 26 minutes before the shooting

...because they ultimately did their job protecting the former President. The people in the bleachers behind him weren't necessarily part of their plan. Also, people need to realize that someone who is no longer the President does not get the same level of protection as the current President. Trump's current detail has likely increased since he started to campaign, and any candidate currently running is also entitled to a Secret Service detail leading up to the election. RFK Jr. could have Secret Service assigned to him, but he's chosen not to have it. So, it was up to local law enforcement to maintain their perimeter, and those kinds of mistakes can happen because they don't have the same training.

No one would have ever assumed that the roof of that building would have been safe from secret service occupation or surveillance without inside information. How obvious do things have to be???

The building is a private company, so certainly wasn't "with COPS inside". There also appears to have been no ladder, just crap in position to allow him to, with significant effort, climb onto the roof. There is video out showing him scaling his way onto the roof. As for his car, must've been Wonder Woman's invisible car, since there's ample footage of the area and its notable dearth of motor vehicles. What'd you do, attend the Helen Keller School of Observation?

As a retired police officer, I have worked several presidential and highly valued persons like the Pope and Nelson Mandala security details. I'm here to say the secret service works on a three tear system in alliance with those other law enforcement officials. Especially now after learning the local police who were responsible for securing the outer perimiter and had a police detail stationed in the exact building, to me the focus should be on the local police department...

I heard another SS state that 3 tier approach is correct. SS stays in close proximity of the former President. Second level,, and third being furthest out. One interesting thing is that he bought a ladder on his way? Does that not imply he believed he was going to be able to get roof access? Given it is a rural area and there the best building in the area for a sniper was left on guarded and unoccupied? There is simply no way to over look that building and not have someone on top. That level of incompetence isn't really possible. Other reports are that he was spotted as suspicious 26 minutes before. police took pictures of him even. They were not sure if he was carrying a scope or binoculars.
