It happens. Fetterman also froze mid debate vs Oz and still defeated him in a landslide in Pennsylvania by almost 400,000 votes only 2 years ago. And considering Trumpty Dumpty is far more hated than a Mehmet Oz who was loved by everyone on TV just be ready to lose again is all I'm saying because it's less about the person himself and more about the man's character. lol Oz was perceived as a dirt wad while Fetterman was perceived as a good human being. I’d like “debates” to have 3 different topics per night, not 50. This isn't about whether Biden would be a good, even healthy President for the next four years. It's whether he zwill (not can... WILL) beat Trump this year. This guy's model is what he is defending, here, not democracy. It is not wise to believe that something that has worked, even 100% of the time in the past, will work as understood 100% of the time in the future. For one thing, there has never been a fascist candidate running who is polling neck and neck with a democracy candidate. The polarization and the underlying political assumptions are qualitatively different now than they've ever been. While his model MAY continue to hold, it is foolish to claim with absolute certainty that they will. His attitude in this interview was highly irresponsible as a scientist, in my view. Take those "keys" into account, absolutely. But to continue to stick with a candidate who has been polling so close to someone who is actively advocating for fascism, and who just demonstrated a complete inability to absolutely clean his clock face-to-face is an incredibly tenuous position. The idea that Biden MAY still win is not near certain enough for me as someone who thinks there is no option too unconventional when it comes to saving the potential for democracy for the forseeable future. It seems to me that a strong centrist Dem would get all of Biden's votes and MANY more. It would not be as risky as people seem to think. Sure, there would be a struggle in the selection process. But the Dems know they've got to be united in November, and that would certainly be top of mind during the selection process. My .02. I just wanted to point out that, if every person guessed completely blindly, about one in each 50 people could guess 8 out of 9 elections (discounting third parties) correctly. This man's track record is in no way spectacular or even particularly impressive, and at least alone does not convey any valid sense of an ability to predict future outcomes.

It used to, as it was one of only few major sources of information (unedited, uncut and without a doubt) to gage and understand the person they would eventually nominate. However, the people that used to watch it in the day were more genuine American citizens, not citizens through amnesty, citizens through pathway to permanency or citizens through family reunion schemes etc.

Well based on the Thursday performance, if Biden loses the most consequential election, all the aides, Obama, Clinton, Jill are just as culpable as Joe. This was Biden v Biden not Biden v Trump. He went on the defence and would have been better served keeping the message simple for all questions. I'm out there fighting for the American people and only the American people. The other guy is fighting for himself.
