It's hard to find a real parallel to what Trump was trying to do during his last four months in office, as long as you're looking at leaders in stable western democracies during the last century. It's not that hard if you look at banana republic dictatorships where the president routinely keeps the elections as his own personal box of tricks and throws his enemies into jail - but the unique thing about Trump is that he was actually elected the legit way, winning a proper election (even if his campaign methods were questionable) and then tried to steal the next election by means of a coup, after he had lost it. Quisling is no real parallel; he was never actually elected but took his chance when Hitler invaded Norway. I think maybe the closest parallel is the attempted Spanish military coup in 1981. The military had been steady supporters of Franco, the Fascist dictator who had died five years earlier, succeeded by the young king Juan Carlos. Franco had thought that Juan Carlos would continue in his vein, but instead he began a transition towards democracy. When the military stormed the parliament in early 1981 - there are famous pictures of them opening fire at senators in the main assembly hall - they thought they would get the king on their side and that he would accept the reversal, but instead he made a tv speech and firmly stood up for the new democratic order, so the coup collapsed. If he had been told in advance and had sided with the generals instead, it would have been a fairly close parallel to what Trump was trying to do, because the personal prestige of the King was essential backing for the young democracy in Spain at the time.

No thanks. One of the reasons I gave up cable and never ever regretted it was Discovery. Together with National Geographic and History the only turned out crap over ancient aliens and boring shows about truckdrivers in the north of Canada or the Himalaya's and that pawn shop stuff. The film maker claimed to be objective, yet during the interview revealed his bias when he said Trump in fact didn't win. It would be one thing if he had presented the science behind that claim, but of course he didn't because it doesn't exist.

There was no evidence, if there had been it would have been presented in court cases not hearings set-up by the Trump campaign where the presentations weren't questioned. Every single claim of electoral malpractice has been found to be false. There was even a pro-Trump audit in Arizona that took months and found a few more vote for Biden that had been counted.

I still fail to understand why trump is not disqualified. Several judges in several states honored the constitution after evaluating the circumstances- determining disqualification- this country should not be in this position by having him anywhere near any public office.
