I changed my mind since because learning another language is very hard. That said there are people who refuse to adapt to thier new country, I wouldn't expect to move to another country without learning its customs and language. I was working with some cubans, one was here 17 years and didn't know much english. After 17 years I feel like he shouldn't have a problem being 100% fluent. When I started learning spainsh I did notice that the cubans seemed to start learning more english. The other American born workers there had nothing to do with them until I started interacting with them. I think a lot of them feel alienated and stick to their language/own people because of it. I know when I speak Spanish I get praised by spanish speakers and it encourages me to keep learning even when I have days I feel like I'm not getting anywhere in the language. Many of them want nothing more then to learn english, I downloaded a app where you exchange languages...I had to quit because I got flooded with request to exchange English for Spainsh... it was to much.

Bill A America is so diverse in cultures and languages from all around the world it's impossible to give it 1 defined language. I know when I lived in california and went to highschool they require you to take a few years in language classes to graduate. One of the first things they teach you if you take spanish is that spanish is one of the fastest growing languages in the world, and it growing a lot larger in the US. In Nicaragua we have places specifically for english speakers even though it's a spanish speaking country, and I know from experience from working at my aunty's store that you'll definitely see some foods and soaps and other items with english and other languages on it, just like you would in america. And why? It isn't England, Canada, or the US. It's because there's so many people in this world who need words translated in other languages they can understand so they can fucking know what they're looking at. And if you do come to my country or any other spanish speaking country and "demand" for something that isn't labeled in english to be labeled in english just pull out a fucking phone and use google translate. Then you would know what whatever you're looking at is and you'll never have to "demand" for anything.

Everything Trump said wasn't wrong. He was 100% correct. The universal language in the US is English, so if you are giving a speech somewhere in a setting where most people there come from different parts of the world and have different dialects they use in THEIR country, the only way EVERYONE can understand the person giving the speech is by speaking a UNIVERSAL language that most people will or SHOULD understand if they live in a country where ENGLISH is the universal language. If you are in the US and DON'T understand English but show up to listen to a English speaker speak in English, then maybe you are the one with the issue. Also the gentleman to Mr.Trump's left who tried to make his point failed miserably. His example was irrelevant to the matter that was being discussed. These people just try to smear him as a racist, but Mr.Trump never backs down or lets them do him like that. He stands up for himself like a man, not a push over. To that I say, good for him!
