I can't say that I agree with this sentiment. Victims shouldn't be ridiculed or demonized for their decisions, but introspection is necessary. An unexamined life isn't a life worth living. If growth is to be achieved, a lot of questions need to be answered or, at very least, pondered. Why did you choose the person you fell for? Why did you choose to stay in spite of their obvious faults? Maybe a therapist is the most qualified to pose them, but trusted friends should ask them as well.
@marlak42036 ай бұрын
No,, actually DO ask them why they did not. If any of you "supporters" are legit with this then you'd want people to be educated. What better than by the very victims themselves. As long as people are asking with understanding and empathy then it is fine to ask. Timing is important also but yes, ask it so that hopefully it helps others to understand and maybe they can do something differently.

I clearly understand the makeup artists comments. When you’re faced with domestic violence and it’s coming from someone that is powerful and even though she may have been thinking about Cassie’s safety. As she stated, Cassie appeared embarrassed and there was probably an agreement between the two women to never speak of the incident because had the makeup artist or Cassie spoke of the incident. Who knows what could had happened to Cassie. Diddy could had retaliated and caused the makeup artist to not be hired. It’s easy for someone who is not experiencing the situation to say, “Why didn’t she call the police?” Domestic Violence is very complexed, it really isn’t that easy. Not even the police! No one, but NO ONE, stopped speaking to my ex-husband. And no one spoke up for me with him. They continued as if nothing had happened. I suffered years of abuse before I finally found the courage to leave my husband. Over 30 years later, I still suffer from severe PTSD from that marriage. The internal scars never go away. A woman is ruined for life. As for the music industry, I think people have too much to lose and that's why I believe they stayed silent. Often the woman is blamed for becoming a target to an abusive man, especially when he's powerful or wealthy. Most people are cowardly and self-centred and they have no empathy. They have no understanding of how badly a woman is affected by such violence.

Remember, Diddy is a billionaire who always paid people off to get away with crimes. Jennifer Lopez said he didn’t shoot someone in a club when he did. He had so much influence they didn’t see an escape. But you are partially correct, when good men do nothing, evil prevails. People were afraid of being beaten, losing their salaries and their lives. He’s actually a serial killer, but people aren’t talking about that. Granted, that’s no excuse, but that’s why he was able to run rampant for decades.

This is not always the case. Cassie finally spoke up, and now others feel inclined to. It's why many who are abused don't speak up, nor leave. It's a psychological trauma response. As for any witnesses, it's quite hard to speak for the person. It's a double-edged sword. You are caught between a rock and a hard place. Abuse causes psychological damage, and through coercion, fear, shame, and guilt, you can easily have your family or friends keep quiet as well. It is quite hard to stand up for someone who doesn't want you to. It is quite difficult to process that amount of pain by someone you love. Why abuse is a cycle. Why don't the women don't leave. Most abuse is insidious and quite jarring for anyone involved. I can beat a child senseless tomorrow (hypothetically speaking), and they will forgive. Most people don't understand how or why the abuse happened. Most are so blindsided and fearful and acquiesce to the abusers control and demands, practically walking on eggshells. Through intermittent reinforcement, the on again off again spiral continues. Most abusers are tactful, strategic, and manipulative. Think Tina Turner and Ike, think Jason Kidd and his wife,we can also look up LL cool j, for playing a role in a movie so deeply, he began to beat his wife, and he never had before. Most are shocked and wonder many things, but leaving isn't one of them. Everyone is different. What I do know is abuse allowed is abuse that will continue in any form. Whose to say what she would have lost had she spoken for Cassie. She was caught between a rock and a hard place. Shia Lebouf just admitted to psychologically damaging and abusing his exes. Abuse is far more common than people realize. And being there for the abused is almost certainly the most any of us would do. What if Cassie didn't want her to, what if she told her I'm going back to him. Abused people often tell their friends but beg them not to share. We can't blame this woman. We should commend that she did speak. Initially, the first person who has to call the abuse are those who are abused. Without that basis, we are all fighting battles for someone else alone. And without their consent. You can not always judge what and why people take years to speak. It is pure science. Most don't. Rape victims wait for others to come forward. There is power in unity against any abuse. Beyond the fact that the abuser is a millionaire with power. I, for one, have seen several women endure physical abuse and went back to boyfriends within hours. Science. The human phyche under stress remains in a state that many don't comprehend.

I turned to my then boyfriend, who to my surprise was wide awake. And I said "is that what I think it is?". He said "yes, it's been going on for about an hour". I was horrified. I called the hotel security and reported it immediately. I heard them arrive and knock on the door and the man answered and denied everything, they asked to see the woman and she denied it, and said that she just wasn't feeling very well. After security left, we heard the man mumble threats for her to "quieten down". And he either kicked her or punched her again, and she groaned in pain. We heard nothing after that. I was nervous that the man might have a gun and threaten us, but I reported it anyway. It haunts me to this day. I feel sad that the lady didn't take her opportunity to get away. To prevent this, we have to understand power dynamics and how human behavior actually plays out in these situations. Whistleblowers are *always* admirable - but we can't expect everyone to be whistleblowers while refusing to change a rigged system, it's ineffective. This happens to many women on a daily and no one cares. Now, that a big name celebrity is involved, everybody is calling for his head and acting as though women are not beaten every day by some deranged animal. Let’s give all domestic abuse victims this type of platform, so they can get the same concern, support, and soon-to-be justice that Cassie is getting. I witnessed this type of crap in my household as a young kid when my mom’s “significant other” would beat her, because he was a coward! My prayers go out to all domestic violence victims (men and women).🙏🏽

People keep saying call the police or what they would have done in the situation. Until you're actually in a situation like that you don't know what you would do!

I have seen a man being abused by a woman and I went to the police immediately. It's those that keep silent that help the abusers.

People need to start talking. And testifying. Otherwise I will start to think that whoever is quiet, and turning a blind eye, was involved in all these criminal activities.

Oprah and Gale haven't came out and condemned Diddy yet. They used to role with him. Just as soon as Kobe died the first thing Oprah and Gale did was throw shade on him for his alleged case against him. I thought that was a low blow.

Guess what Myla, YOU may be one of the people going to jail! The attorney said ANYBODY who knew about the abuse and did nothing will have their day in court. How STUPID of you to show your face on here. Shame on you!

People who speak out publicly know they will never work in that industry again. They make secrets and keep secrets.

That was ridiculous. 🤦🏾 She can't imagine why nobody would speak up, yet she was an eyewitness to it and hasn't spoken up til now - nearly 15 years later. Lady, please. 🙄

She's part of the problem , for a few dollars to do interview , she has morals now . Alot of people's loyalty to money is shocking . If you see this woman , run get out her space .

So…you hear another woman being beaten, see evidence of it and you don’t call security or the cops or try to help at all? Cassie might be her friend but she IS NOT Cassie’s friend. Cowards are everywhere.

It is aggravating that now people are coming forward. I work in healthcare and I advocate for my patients. I know in the entertainment industry those bullies that are in power seems to be intimidating but with the world of technology just let the evidence speaks for itself. People that were part of that environment are probably traumatized as well since they have witnessed these things so I would suggest they seek professional help to help them process the trauma. I pray for people to have the courage to stand/speak up for individuals that are being victimized. When a person doesn't report an incident you are part of the problem.
