Michael Moore clearly a Trumpster, lol... He should take his own advice, and informed the audience of his bias prior to presenting his case...
@AllenKnutson4 ай бұрын
Maybe he is, but you can't tell from what he said here. She asked, what would you say as a defense lawyer, and he rose to the intellectual challenge. He does say, when she asks him to argue for the prosecution, "I've been a little negative about the case". It's literally the first thing he says, so, he's informing the audience like you wanted. As a Georgia state senator, he was a Democrat. You don't have to be a Trumpster to feel that legally, this is e.g. less of a slam-dunk case than the Florida and Georgia ones.
@mikemichael4454 ай бұрын
Yeah-- biased but CNN asking his opinion
@charlesvorones36124 ай бұрын
@@AllenKnutson You sure as hell can tell from his spit-flying rant. He spent a few seconds on the prosecution's side, and then went full bore in favor of the defense with an impassioned speech of an intensity that could only be matched by Trump himself, accept frighteningly, with a superior vocabulary. Moore's worshipping of Trump is what makes the MAGA movement click. And that story about building something on sand? He brings every ounce of poetic energy, his "i'm just a po' country lawyer" corn pone he can muster to try to sway his audience... of MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. The jury's not sequestered; were they watching Moore's performance? Trump has the education of a 9-year old, but it's Moore, and the Josh Hawleys and Ted Cruz's, with their Ivy League background that bolsters MAGA'S relentless whataboutism that replaces any policy or logical position. Who cares if Cohen even stole 455 million from Trump? It has nothing to do with Trump interfering with the 2016 election. Common sense says, that if Cohen really wants Trump to also be held accountable, and the only way to do that is to tell the truth, WHY WOULD COHEN LIE NOW, AND SCUTTLE THE CASE? However there will be at least one person (the one who listens to Trump's Truth Social every day?) who will refuse to listen to the evidence, and hang the jury. Trump should've had this fanatic, Moore, on his team. His hand-wringing, crying plea for a Trump acquittal is unprofessional. The question is, why does CNN want him on? What will CNN gain from the normalizing, the legitimizing, the defending of Trump? What does CNN gain from having a townhall show made up only of hundreds of cheering Trump supporters with a host who allows him to lie endlessly, with no corrections, fact-checking or tough questions? What will a close race in the fall mean to CNN? And, yes, Moore WAS a Democrat... but he's from the deep south... you dig?

Yes, as the last person interviewed noted: Making a clear link to the extenuating crime -- thereby elevating this from misdemeanor offenses to felony -- is the key element for the prosecution. But... I'm not so sure that they HAVEN'T done this, as this person suggests. Yes, a clear, unambiguous and SUCCINCT summary of this should be key in the prosecution's closing arguments. And, yes, the defense may try to throw shade on this with the tired, old rhetorical question: "What was the CRIME?" But really, this is no different than any internet troll's repeated snipe -- when it's just not THAT hard to look up in the court filings. And this is a court room -- not social media.

"A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family - for all Gold Star families - on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.” Prison is too good for this traitor!
