The parents of Monica Lewinsky deserve a great deal of credit for possessing the compassion, sympathy, and empathy, that Monica speaks about. They suffered with her but had the strength and intelligence to support and guide her back to a more manageable life. A measure of Monica's maturity and mental health is the credit that she gives to her parents, in acknowledging their role in her survival and recovery. She deserves credit for doing so, and by doing so. she has "honored her father and mother". Monica Lewinsky has grown into a healthy, mature adult, who can now help others survive bullying and "Shame". She is an articulate activist, helping to highlight this problem, and to discourage the shaming of others worldwide. She has redeemed herself.

Let's be honest, most women would be mortified if the sexual exploits of their 20s were made public. Clinton used his position of power to take advantage of her. In this case, it was the Man, all was OK. Give me a break. How dumb is the public and how dumb are YOU? Think about it. I await your answer or do I just get another excuse. Here is a recent example of how dumb she still is,. An interviewer asked: When you couldn't get a job you could have moved back with your parents, right? Answer: "My parents couldn´t support me for the rest of my life". First of all, they may have only had to pay for her food and clothing, more or less. It would have cost more than a couple of hundred a month, in those days. And no parent can support their child, who is over 20 younger for the rest of the child´s life. The odds would be that the child would live at least 10-20 years longer than the father. She would inherit the house and a lot of cash, to share with her brother, if he needed it too... Are YOU forming a clear picture of a very dumb and spoiled child with no idea how to get through life? A perfect example of a girl of the 50s who got a job in the WH... On the topic of keeping a professional and personal life separate- he did his “personal” things (that he had no right to do) in a professional place. I think the public has every right to judge someone for that. If you’re going to cheat on your wife, don’t do it at work and then insist that people have no business digging into your personal affairs. As for Monica, this is hard to say, but what she did was incredibly stupid and reckless, and then she TOLD someone about it. We can all get up on our high-horses and say “she shouldn’t be judged for one mistake she made in her twenties” but the fact is, we ARE all judgemental people. We all read the tabloids and gossip about celebrities’ personal lives. We are all fascinated with sex. We are all constantly judging each other. I don’t think we have to beat ourselves up for that.

I do feel bad for Monica in a lot of ways, for many reasons, but I feel so much more sympathy towards Paula Jones tbh. She was treated horribly as well. And in her case, she did not willingly choose to participate in an affair with a married father or lie about it afterwards to protect him and herself. She didn't initiate it, engage with it or keep it going for two years. I just finished watching an interview she did on the Roseanne show (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6vNhYJ4bLCkqrc) and I admire her for her bravery and strength to keep up the fight against money and power in the name of the truth despite the way people perceived her or treated her. Like Monica, she experienced a lot through her ordeal and in her case, it wasn't even consensual. Yet you don't see her being propped up in the public eye as a victim. That's not to say that Monica isn't one in any way, but just to say that there are other women who had interactions with Clinton, that they didn't ask for, and if we're going to analyze his scandals under a MeToo lens then there are others who should be discussed as well. The exposure and discourse surrounding Monica, now and in all these years, is something incomparable which - although I understand - is odd when there are cases between him and others that involve acts that were not even consensual.

I will never understand why so many people run to Monica's defence and why we consider her a victim. She wasn't a child. She was intelligent. This was not the first time she had snuck around with an older, married man. Yes - the media hounded her, Linda Tripp betrayed her, her private conversations and relationship were made public and she was treated unethiclly by the FBI. But, ultimately, she knew what she was doing when she entered into the affair. She knew what she was doing when she purgered herself on her affidavit. She was not an innocent victim...and, if you listen to the tapes, not a particularly kind person. I feel that, as a society, we've gone too far. We are so determined to draw attention to the wrong doing of men in power that we automatically take all the blame off the woman, even if that doesn't align with the truth.

I agree that she did wrong, but at the end of the day he was the President of the United States and she was just a 22 year old intern. He should have known better. He got to move on with his life and have a successful career while her life was completely destroyed. Think about that as well.

Key phrase “men in power”, this was the most powerful man at the time and the Office of the President of the United States. How does such a person compromise that position? With all his advisors, security, etc, how is this allowed to happen? Does the Secret Service look the other way?

The biggest difference is when Paula Jones first came out to accuse Bill was that she was forced upon by Bill , Paula has all the right to ride on MeToo, but Monica willingly choose to flirt with Bill and willingly say so that she loves him she willing playing the fire with a married president, Monica has a huge moral issue. Monica never sued Clinton she was merely being caught by their secret love affair. Paula Jones sued Bill Clinton in 1994, she stood up and was the real hero people forgot.

I imagine it went something like this, I will give you what I imagine as a very accurate emotional script of what I thought happened Hillary(throws vase at him): You selfish piece of Sh*t how do you think I’m feeling!, (tears up)I am DEVASTATED, I am MORTIFIED, I am APPALLED! Bill: it was an unnecessary distraction I tried to stop it Hillary: you let an obsessive crazy person into your life and it became a distraction, what a surprise! Bill: I’m sorry just please forgive me it was a wreckless, stupid decision just please don’t leave me, I’m a troubled person it goes back to my childhood Hillary:(with tears in her eyes) oh Don’t tell that story again, okay poor little bill and your alcoholic step father, your stern grandmother and your tragic life….you know what you are bill…you are chaos, you are mayhem….everywhere you go, everything you do, it just disorients people long enough for you to get your way and for the longest time I was stupid enough to think I could control this chaos because we were a team! It was the 2 of us against the world!…there were causes we believed in things we wanted to do, we had a mission, we had a purpose…we weren’t like anybody else, there was nothing we couldn’t do! And we were gonna do it all together, but I was wrong! I was wrong! You lit our life on fire!! You exposed our lives to those narcissists Linda Tripp and Ken Starr…and for what? For sex Bill: no, no it wasn’t like that it, it, we didn’t Hillary: oh please! Just because you didn’t finish doesn’t mean you didn’t start!…..(teary eyed) this, this is an arrangement…okay, you are not my husband anymore, you- Bill: (teary eyed) Hillary please don’t leave me, your the only woman I’ve ever loved Hillary: I threw my body in front of you to protect you, I humiliated myself for your benefit…and you go off and do whatever the F**K you want…this an arrangement that’s all this is do you understand that Bill: (crying) Hillary I love you I need you, I will do anything to make it up to you just please don’t leave me Hillary: Do I even have a choice? Are you really that naïve, If I leave you, I’m the woman who left president Clinton, if I stay, I’m the woman who stayed! I lose either way because I didn’t invest in me I invested in US!!! (Crying) You’ve made me look stupid in front of the entire world and I F**KING hate you for that! (She walks out of the room and they promise to not talk about it unless questioned) This was actually a scene from a TV series about them and it’s extremely powerful because it’s extremely true that Hillary invested in the two of them, and even did it in her presidential campaign. It’s also hard hitting because it answers the long asked question, why didn’t you separate? Because it’s an arrangement. We all knew it was an arrangement after the scandal but I have no doubt they truly loved each other before this. Whenever they are asked about their marriage they deflect now because now it’s an arrangement but they insist it’s not and do a very good job of acting it out. It’s arguably the most impactful scene in the whole series because those questions about their marriage have been deflected ever since this scandal and we finally get the answers to how Hillary reacted, likely in an accurate way. This series is called “Impeachment American Crime story” I recommend watching it m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2eogKVsmbKnhpI ⬆️here’s a link to the scene
