Some Republicans in the House of Representatives have discussed vacating House Speaker Mike Johnson over the spending agreement he made with Democrats over the weekend.
Johnson could face the same fate as his predecessor after some conservative members of Congress were outraged over the speaker's budget deal with Democratic leadership, struck in an attempt to avoid a partial government shutdown as the January 19 funding deadline nears.
The Louisiana Republican was appointed 56th speaker of the House of Representatives in October 2023 after Kevin McCarthy was vacated from the position the same month, also after negotiating with Democrats to try to avoid a government stoppage.

Why can't secret service arrive at events and hand out their own secure radios to all law enforcement involved that they use before during and after events and then return the radios at the conclusion. I just watched the acting USSS director say that would be too difficult to do and would take months of planning just give them pre program encrypted radios that are changed every event. The same hardware but a different frequency or Chanel as unique as the pin of the day used by USSS. This is not rocket science. Hand them out and collect them so every one is in a secret plan for every event. I don't get that after hundreds of rallies why now there are these assassination attempts. 2 so far.
