You´re the lucky guy. My first train video of 2025. The river level seems pretty low. Hard to imagine that you´ve been flooded. Happy 2025 😊😊😊

Crazy isnt it? That river can go from empty to flood in a matter of hours. Its not deep, so it doesn't take much to bring it right up. Happy 2025 to you as well!

Trams can have grass on tracks not just because they mow it a lot, but also because they have concrete sleepers that don't rot

Very true!

I think that most of the time, it would be more like ladder track rather than traditional railway sleepers? afaik it is quite the same as concrete embedded track up until the step where the concrete would be added

@briannem.6787 Idk In my country it's just concrete sleepers (or wooden in places that weren't replaced for like 50 years), and when the road is there I think they just put sleepers and put the road on top

@@fanOfMinecraft-UAs_channel I just went and checked, and it seems that it's done that way in Melbourne (AU) too. I think I remember the gold coast light rail doing it differently but I'd have to check. I was sure that modern tram track was done as ladder track, I remember seeing a video somewhere that showed it, I'd have to go searching for it...

NIce setup and explanation - tnx. You didn't mention any "potential" impact of the leaves and weeds on wheel contact resistance with the track. Feels like at the low traction voltage being used that could also become an issue if things weren't cleared periodically.

Thanks for another great video. I'm not a very practical person and I had guessed the track beds were sprayed but I was think "a really big time consuming job by hand". Your method has turned what would have been a back breaking task into quite a fun job which would take no time at all by comparison. I hope your Christmas has gone well and that 2025 brings all you could wish for.
