Excellent video. You actually show the wiring of the solenoid. Exactly what I needed. Adding that resistor I would not have thought of!. I've got 124 more if you ever run out, LOL. Many thanks and please continue your most informative videos on the K4o!

I think that you need a small amount of air at all times to protect the lens in your machine. I have seen a small bleed bypass valve put in with a T adapter. The other way is to get another valve like you said on the status pin ether way you need a little bleed valve to protect the lens. looks like a great machine hope you have the best of luck with it.

I started out with a eBay Chinese K40, it was the most basic machine and had no air assist. I used this machine for quite some time until I added an air assist. I would have to clean the lens once in a while, but it didn’t fail. There are some jobs I still do today that I can not use any air assist with because it will adversely effect the engraving on that specific material.

What size compressor is good for an om tech 50 w

Ok, this is great information, just what I was looking for. But you might want to look at the HUGE volume change between your talking and the intro music. Does it really need to have such a huge increase? When the volume is high enough for your speech at the start it nearly bursts your eardrums when that intro base cuts in.

I just played it on the KZbin app and there is no volume difference as you have stated.

What is the point of the diode? I don’t think I’ve seen any one else use it?
@mw3designs9 ай бұрын
The diode would eliminate any electrical back-feed to the controller.

At any point where you using the compressor instead of the stock air assist at all times without all the hookups and running it at all times?
@mw3designs6 ай бұрын
I used the stock air assist when I first got the laser, and I did not like it. Wasn’t powerful enough for cutting in my opinion. I had a smaller laser that was connected to my air compressor with a ball valve, I manually turned the air on when needed. At first I just hooked up my OmTech that way, but quickly decided to use the options on the software and the control board to make the air assist work as it should with my larger air compressor. My on board air assist is still in the unit, but I put it on a switch and leave it turned off.

@@mw3designs Thank you for getting back to me on this. My stock air on my 60 w Chinese laser died and I want to upgrade to a compressor for air assist but am a bit intimidated by the electronics of it all. My plan was to hook it up and manually turn it on and off with a set PSI for now.... With the plan of tying it in to the machine for control later. Thanks again!

On my smaller laser the air assist was manual like I stated and I used it that way for years. I put an air line with regulator right next to the laser with a 1/4” ball valve right next to the laser, I would turn on the air and send the job. You should have no problems doing it that way, and it’s all user preference, not everyone does it the same.
