I am a woman refrigeration tech here in Pennsylvania and I want to learn more about the CO2. I think the hotel was the way to go for air conditioning and supermarket refrigeration, of course Dupont and honey well I like it you know how that goes. Your video is very informative. I wish you would make a lot more with CO2 and show actual systems and operation

Thank you for the very informative video on the CO2 transcritical booster system! I learned a lot from it, and I especially appreciated the chart that you used to illustrate the different components of the system. I was wondering if you would be willing to share that chart in PDF format? I would love to be able to reference it more easily in the future. Thanks again for the great video!

Love it Trevor, been listening to all your Co2 podcasts on Spotify this week. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the knowledge you are sharing, you manage to get it across in an understandable way, really are a mentor to me. Question, why is it called a booster system?
@RefrigerationMentor
@RefrigerationMentor 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. I am really glad they are helping you. Please share with a friend and leave a review on Spotify. Why it is called a booster system is because the low temperature compressors are discharging into the medium temperature compressors and the CO2 (R744) is boosted to a higher pressure
@thanktheknife

@@RefrigerationMentor Thanks for clearing that up Trevor, pretty amazing stuff that discharge becomes suction! Would love to see a video from you (if you haven’t already not made one) in regards to phycometric charts. I find them confusing but believe they would help immensely understand systems better. Any advise or resources you recommend?

Hey can you make a CO2 refrigerant video all the basics about the compound, the oil these systems use and what happens if overcharged or undercharged. Can you also talk about the expansion rate, how much we get in a can, what types of can sizes will we typically see in the field? Can we also get info on the different types of low temperature metering devices? Also can you give us an idea how a heat pump CO2 system can work? Will we be able to avoid freezing the air moisture with these systems? Will they need a bypass valve as well?

Awesome Video Trevor and sooo helpful. I've seen a video of an actual CO2 test chamber with a sight glass and the Transcritical, Liquid, Vapor, and Supercritical states are visualized. The video was a bit confusing in that it did not use imperial measurements. Do you know of video that might show this using imperial measurements or possibly some diagrams to better understand this "state" change?

Im not very well versed in commercial refrigeration. Looking at the diagram would the medium temp evap require a check valve? Looks to me like the low temp compressors would try to discharge in reverse flow through the medium temp evap.

So on hot summer days above 31 C the CO2 only condenses in the flash tank receiver cooling the trans-critical gas into liquid ?
@RefrigerationMentor
@RefrigerationMentor 2 жыл бұрын
Yes above 31C there is no pressure temperature relationship. The pressure is reduced through the HPV high pressure valve and droplets will fall out of the refrigerant vapor and drop to the bottom of the flash tank/receiver.
