Was a huge mistake letting Barry Trotz go. The caps with him as coach, could've won at least one more cup. But as an islander fan, I'm glad the caps let him walk.

Everyone keeps saying that but the truth is they were not truly an underdog team if you break down their roster that year. They were the first NHL expansion team in history to be granted that particular type of draft for their lineup. And the last team to ever be given it officially as it's been declared by Bettman for Seattle's up and coming team. They had a damn good lineup all things considering so in all truth it's not entirely that surprising.
