I know everyone gushes over Shanon’s part but can we appreciate the way he plays an abusive partner? 1. He acts like he’s sorry but you don’t see any real conveyed emotion that doesn’t feel forced as hell. 2. He’s shifting blame, trying to put in on her or making her share the blame, even when it’s all on him. “I feel like I’m disappointing *you*.” “How did *we* let it get so out of hand.” 3. When he’s lost control, he acts tough, and attacks her insecurities. “Who’s gonna love you?” Honestly, Glee was hit or miss with it’s storylines but Beiste’s abuse story arc was nailed perfectly. Kudos to the writers who wrote this. They clearly knew what they were doing.

Dot Marie Jones single-handedly saved Glee's last episodes of the trainwreck season 3 was. I'm still pissed she didn't win the Emmy for her superb acting, one of the best depictions of domestic violence american television has shown. Beiste is lucky that Roz and Sue helped him when that husband hit Beiste, if he didn’t, Beiste would have been stuck there until who knows how long until he realised that he needs to leave the abusive husband, you could tell that he was undermining Beistes confidence, the confident person that Beiste is. How he was using manipulative ways on to keep Beiste as his wife. Because a lot of people don’t have friends or family who would do something like that.
