Bad ref!!! There was a 10s alarm, at this moment the ref should be ready to get between the boxers, and that's his job. He just stood still. Sometimes boxers don't hear the bell for many reasons. It's the ref's job to stop them.

The referee HAS to step forward and separate the fighters. In thai boxing it is traditional to use as much time as possible to score points. The one who did wrong here was the referee, as he is the one that has to make sure everything is in order, and you don't do that by staying 4 feet away and hoping they respect the rules.

ya the ref didn't get between them on the bell, so it's kind of his bad too. It's kind of your job to put yourself in between fighters at the bell so they both know officially in case they don't hear it like this exact situation. Or at least put your hand out so he knows to stop. But I like how the opponent got hit in the jaw no problem but then 5 seconds after realizing he can try to fake injury decides to go to the corner and fake like he's not ok is hilarious.

Like the gentlemen above me said, kick with your shins. Even when using your shin you will have bruises all over the next day after sparring / fighting. But landing a kick with your ankle or foot on someone's shin usually results in a sprained or fractured foot in my experience.

You kick with shin in muay thai, too many small bones in your feet that can break if your kick gets checked or if you catch their elbow when they're blocking

I brought my thai trainer to a reflexolgy massage (feet) once, he was 90s lumpinee champion, and the massage therapist said his feet and leg are messed up. He was in excruciating pain the entire time, so he's probably walking around his life with a messed up legs and got used to it.

referee is too slow is he sleeping or something? he need to be trained properly not standing too far away fighters and go check how thai referee stop and safe both fighters in muay thai. you need to pay attention and feel in the game as well as both fighters not just standing around and sleeping. i understand fighter when they in the fight sometime you can't hear any thing from sides because you have to focus your opponent in front of you and plus the bell need to be louder a bit more
