I've been a Tarheel fan since before birth. I always dispised the man, but it was always in the spirit of competition. Truly, he helped to carry on the greatest rivalry in all of sports, and I agree that he set a standard. Seeing all those old players assembled though in one place gave me severe anxiety, lol. It forced up so many memories of the happiest moments and the bitterest of defeats. The rivalry will never be the same, but he will always be part of NCAA and ACC basketball. He gave a portion of his soul to the game, and it will live on long past his retirement.

I have to add my Duke Story of the Young Coach K. In the fall of 1985 I was tasked with organizing a social event, but my living group had no money. I called up the Athletic Department to see if I could get someone from the BBAL team to talk about the upcoming season . They transferred me to Coach K. Who answered the phone and graciously agreed to come out and talk to basically 30 students. About all I remember of his talk was how much he talked about how great the student spectators were and how our support and volume gave Duke a big home turf advantage. How true that was and how much bigger that advantage became. How lucky were we? Over the years Coach K and his teams have given me and other Duke fans so much joy. What makes this so special to me is that K has also been unwittingly living and showing me values like family and respect. Again How lucky are we to have Coach K. Coach K you will be missed . I wish you and your family much happiness.

NEVER been a real COACH! Gets the best players money can buy, and when it doesn’t work out, it’s the player’s faults. Such a pathetic fraud. Most wins of all time? Only bc he SCHEDULED the most GAMES. He cannot TOUCH Dean’s or Roy’s winning percentage! Dean got his playing less than thirty games a season. K started scheduling as many as he could. Look at his LOSSES! And no UNC coach would ever be so self-centered as to have Farewell Tour. So classless! Didn’t once think about the pressure that it would put on those kids, because he doesn’t care about them. Look at him up there in his Ivory Tower, looking down on all the students and fans…It’s ALWAYS been about HIM!

Ive hated this man for 28 out of 28 years of my life...... Love my Tar Heels. I was so pumped up that we won. But I will say, congratulations. Without a doubt the greatest college basketball coach of all time. And even though I'm only a few years removed from the experience, I'm beginning to realize how awesome it was for me, a Tar Heel fan, to sit about 20 feet behind him and Zion Williamson inside of Cameron Indoor.
