@shapri100
@shapri100 2 жыл бұрын
@Jeff Mitz He did tell him..
@alcottdevalte7440
@alcottdevalte7440 2 жыл бұрын
@Jeff Mitz The gameplan wasn't to take the fight to the ground at all even though Khamzat did that by going for a takedown early in the fight but became reckless. Speaking about that; all he had to do was to drag Burns towards his left on the ground in a southpaw position to gain ground control much easier instead of towards his right when Burns was on his knees and the hips and legs weren't even controlled, also he should have only gone towards his right if he had Burns' back. Burns tried to pull guard twice but his legs were too short for Khamzat along with bad timing and he was also too reckless as the pace was extremely high. During the standup, all Khamzat had to do was to use his jab and control the distance much better but he didn't do such a simple thing amongst other things... I'm sure that Andreas knows all of this that Khamzat was leaning too much in and pulls back without circling and using angles, which gets him out of balance and makes his long features less effective, especially against a shorter opponent who he should invite in instead of moving in freely without a setup and by not controlling Burns with a jab, which further leads to him getting countered easily and observe leg kicks instead of timing and breaking Burns' rhythm. Now, his jab gets extended like a hook instead of being pulled out from his chest in angle with his jaw line, which wouldn't be timed and seen so easily. And his striking distance is in balance with his wrestling range, which again takes away his height and reach when moving closer to his opponent. The only benefit would be that his opponents gets confused if he would go for a takedown or do striking, but he would get timed against a defensive counter puncher easily because when he leans inwards, it takes more than 2 seconds to adjust again his distance managing, which is basically a benefit in the welterweight division for his shorter opponents...

Chimaev is number 3 in the world, on a 5 win streak, thats more than enough to ask for a title shot but no, the coach says if he cant beat the people the champion has beaten then he doesnt belong in there with the champion. Hats off to both Chimaev and his coach, what an approach, most people in his position have demanded title shots but you can see that Chimaev saying "I'M THE BEST, I'M THE KING, AHHHHHHH" it isnt just a catch phrase, he means that shid. Hmmm what strikes me as his coach and boxer is that you fail to bring up anything but striking ability.. .you cannot compare any Canelo performance in your argument because that mma striking performane that Khamzat did was horrrible boxing ...that was pure mma striking at best. There is alot more to boxing than striking that you seem focused on... and right there is going to be your problem. Like it or not undefeated Floyd Mayweather did not go undefeated by his striking abilities, almost everything else wa priority ahead of his striking in his training. It's great to have a strong precise punching ability like Canelo but there's a whole like more that goes into it ahead of that. Precise hands get you nowhere if you can't ever get to the point hitting the hole..

Considering the success Gustafsson had with his "striking" which was Michael's and Jocke's coaching I'd say there's no need to worry about the quality of "MMA striking" he's receiving. Andreas might not be a striking coach as much as he's a boxing coach but he isn't the only striking coach there. Smilla Sundell just captured the ONE FC belt in Muay Thai at the age of 17 (youngest ever) training at All Stars... If that's not proof of the quality at All Stars I don't know what is

@@sebastianfallman9876 hmmm its ok you skimmed my response and missed my point...I was speaking of Khamzats boxing capability in the fight with Burns because this coach was speaking about this as if it was his attribute and talent...which it is clearly not. He has striking but not boxing skills... and I'm not worried but would be surprised if he somehow ever makes it to Usman and even then.

@@c.anderson3444 okay, I think I get your point but I highly doubt Andreas meant that either boxing or striking was his talent. I think he will get much better but the fight with Burns is not a good example of his striking/boxing because he simply wanted to brawl. He could've done better but now it's on to the next one and his skills will only improve regardless. Also he's already at Usman if you ask me, beating #2 who's undefeated against all but the champ is more than enough in my book but if he goes one more then it's Usman after that so he really doesn't have much left. We'll see how he does against Colby if they fight and I think that's an easier fight than Burns tbh

@@sebastianfallman9876 naaa Colby won't stop unless he breaks something ..sometines ...unless he is bs playing like he did with Jorge. He should have finished that job instead of playing touch butt.. now hes paying the price big. What a pathetic fight that was. If he shows like that he won't have a hope.

He wants to make law suit a scapegoat to avoid Khamzat and Belal at the same time, that's why he brought things like brain damage, Colby takes calculated risks if it is for the belt he cannot face a fighter in top 5 with winning momentum and wrestling significant skillset. For now he will be chasing Dustin, wonderboy, Connor Mc Gregor ,Nate Diaz or Leon if he looses to Usman. But the guys like Belal, Burns, Khamzat he cannot fight them at this moment take my word.

Before Khamzat's fight with Burns, I would agree with you, but Khamzat being humbled by what the top of the game is like to fight against and his attitude after the fight, you can see he's going to improve monumentally. He already had the raw power and conditioning but was unrefined as that fight revealed, but his attitude in regards to knowing how much better he could have been is exactly the the champion mindset Usman showed us after his first fight against Masvidal. That self-reflection and lack of self-satisfaction is what makes champions, and both of them have it - only Usman has already made it, so he doesn't have that hunger in him anymore that Khamzat does, I call it more 50/50 if anything.
