Coach Mel: FYI: for future helpful info. RV Frigs run on Ammonia gas (principle of heating gas up which then it turns into a liquid, it must pass thru a pin-hole leading to the evaporator, as that liquid is "released" it turns into a cold gas;there is no compressor), unless the gas leaked-out thru exterior corrosion on the Unit. The number 1 reason they quit working is the the capillary tube for the Pilot light/Flame which allows gas to flow, the capillary-tubes stop working properly. A Pilot flame is all that is required for an Ammonia frig to operate . One does NOT need to go to a RV store to replace the capillary tube....it can be bought/purchased at any home improvement store......as the capillary tube will work on any Natural Gas/Propane heater, stove, or RV frig. It's a safety thing when it works or fails.....gas will not flow if its failed. Best part ? they are dirt cheap, just a few bucks and a few minutes to replace. When it works properly, the sensor on the end of the capillary-tube has to get hot to keep the propane flowing to the Pilot light (your case Pilot flame), and on "old school" units, there is no ECM to temporally keep the gas flowing until the capillary-tube gets hot, which is why on old units, you have to hold a button down for a few seconds until the capilllary-tube allows gast to flow to Pilot flame.

You can take wood glue and fine saw dust and mix it together and put in the screw hole of all the ones that just spin when you go to reinstall everything

Right now I'm doing the interior of the trailer and the wood is all rotten but where the metal meets in the corners they're Staples and then they're screws and you have to take the outer trim off the trailer and then get the Staples out in order to get that new wood in there you got to clean all out and then you would so all the Staples and Nails had to be gone nightmare

FYI, tooth picks and Elmer's glue do wonders for worn out hinge holes

Great tip. We won't have to worry about that, we took everything apart and will be starting from scratch.

Let's do this, I have a camper outside.

To repair this trailer properly you have to remove the outside Skin and fix it that way. I renovated one and when i did research on repairing any rotted wood i found that is the only proper way to do it.

Thank you for this. We will be removing the entire outer skin. Right now we are using the sides as templates to make the framing of the new walls, then we will remove skins.
