Excellent teaching...it is joy to see women, men of all ages but especially older folks , find new adventure through playing this amazing game and connecting with others on this journey I call the 'third age' of new beginnings. Hope we all can keep playing pass 120yrs.

Great video. I have a partner who insists that I charge the net on every drop shot. Thank you for clarifying when to get up to the net and when to be more cautious on the drop shot.

Great video. I watched your Q&A video and you were asked a question on the third shot drop. You mentioned the different aspects and mechanics of hitting a successful drop. Like a compact swing, footwork etc. You make it look so effortless! If you could do a video on this it would be awesome!! Thank you.

I love your videos. I just started playing and feel so frustrated with playing. I tend to hit the ball high and out of the court. It's so bad the opposing team just stand still knowing its going to be out. I loose with my team because of that. Thank you for this video I really needed that. From Edmonton Alberta Canada

Great video! Thank you so much! I've been playing for 2 years and never missed a serve except for the last 2 months! It only happens when I play. It's affecting my game, and I feel so bad for my partner. I hope you have the solution, because I tried everything! Thank you!

Mervat Ameen lots of people go through it. So you are not alone. It will come back, try your best to keep swinging at that serve. Might be good to drill for a few days and take your mind off of your serve. Remember that you know how, your mind is just getting in the way at this time

It means that if the 3rd shot drop is marginal you should come part of the way up to the kitchen and then stop to hit a 5th shot into the kitchen.

I love tennis. But I constantly break strings (about every 2-3 times out). I do my own stringing, but it still costs time. Pickleball is nice as you don't have to worry about breaking strings.

Great video. You discuss "protecting your partner". - can you explain that more ?? Thanks.
@MrJgoodwin75 жыл бұрын
Protecting your partner means not hitting shots that put them in a defensive position. The main ways you can protect your partner are by not speeding up the ball while hitting cross court, and by not driving the ball if it is below your knee.
@RandomPerson-xg6uv5 жыл бұрын
Bill Smith Josh is definitely in the right track here! Often times players hit from low to high crosscourt when your opponent is sitting on it

When receiving a great 3rd/5th shot drop, do you always go cross court??
@MrJgoodwin75 жыл бұрын
Imo it depends on the direction it is coming to you. If it is coming to you cross court go back across. If it is coming to you down the line go back straight ahead.
@RandomPerson-xg6uv5 жыл бұрын
jim rayburn not necessarily, it depends on a lot of things in my opinion. If the ball is below the net, meaning it is a very good drop I more likely to go crosscourt because I have more room for error. If the ball is above the net and I can attack it depends on my opponent’s positioning and sometimes on there strength
@jennieriazanski615 жыл бұрын
I've been told by many advanced players not to drop third shot to the person already at the net. What is your opinion about it?
@ChadHenkel5 жыл бұрын
Generally, you need to hit it where theey are not. So keep the deep person, deep and make them earn their spot at the net.

There is too much thinking and details in pickleball. In tennis, you just play without too much thinking. Plus, you never get that pure feeling of a good shot in pickleball like you do in tennis.

if you can't dink, don't drop the 3rd. these ladies can't dink

That's harsh. The video is focused on the 3rd shot drop. Points with a lot of dinking have probably been edited out. These points showed what Simone wanted to focus on and talk about.
