Mister Fantastic is a character who actually requires a lot more skill than it seems at a glance. Knowing when to bounce shield to your team, knowing when it’s the right time to go into tank mode since you can’t actually do it manually and timing your reflect right so people don’t ignore and melt you. it It’s pretty fitting that playing as Reed Richards requires you to think outside the box. He’s really underrated.

His tank mode needs more mobility, at least a jump to clear the gap between characters. Would be cool if you could store a tank form charge for a little bit, with it going back to 50 if unused in that time. Also a buff to his ultimate’s bonus health and slow effect would help

Reed gets a lot better when you understand positioning. He stops dive 1 shots he pulls people off strong positions. He pulls them up into kills, and he can walk down healers.

46:44. Magik also does incredibly well in the front almost like an off tank playing around natural cover. You're able to farm damage off of the tanks by dropping demons on top of them and you can get your ult very quickly, your also able to access the backline through the Frontline a lot of the time because after putting up enough pressure on the tanks they'll give a lot of space allowing you to dash into an overextended support and killing them allowing you to steam roll them. You can realistically win any 1v1, but any character with a temporarily invincible frame like namor can interrupt your combo. Also, you will never win a 1v1 against a Bucky of similar or greater skill, just not possible with the amount of HP he gets from pressing e, shift and right click, so avoid Buckys like the plague and when your ulting you need to be ulting when Bucky is either dead or you can quickly burst him down before he hooks you and two taps you in the head

In fact, I would argue that when you have a solo tank you are almost throwing if u don’t play and brawl with them, the only time you should play as a true flanker is when you have two tanks

She’s easier to heal because she’s got a bigger hit box than other DPS and her movement speed isn’t as high as others as well. When she dives it’s easier to hit with healers like Loki and Snow. But dice characters I put my ice shield on them at all times to keep them healed.

Most of this was excellent. I would say you undersell how gamechanging a good Cloak fade can be if you can communicate with your team. Much like soul bond for Adam or regen field for Loki, it's essentially a mini-ult. You can negate so many other ultimates with it.

Someone like scarlet witch or widow will not feel good in every mode/map/team comp tho. There are maps/comps that make even a scarlet witch or widow feel amazing though. Typically, if a character excels in some condition, with certain comps, you still have them in C or above. This game really has no non-viable hero, honestly. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Like this vid says though, certain character do need a certain team and play style, but if it's not a play style you enjoy that doesn't mean it's bad, etc.

It’s hard to carry as a support. I know stats don’t always matter but if I’m playing Snow or Dagger and I’m getting 36-50k heals 40 assists 30 elims 6 deaths and 9-12k damage on both characters it’s gotta count for something. Especially when it’s common im outperforming our DPS and the enemy healers. Yet we still lose I believe that’s carry stats as a support but I believe carry isn’t as carry implicated as a carry DPS or Tanks. I was one win away from plat and now I’m back down to gold 2.

I've already found my mains and my OTP... for now. Obviously, we're still early in Rival's lifespan, but I'm set with the current roster. My picks: OTP: - Peni. I instalock Peni whenever I can, and fill only if we get two other tank mains. Vanguard: - Peni. As previously stated. - Thor. He was the first Vanguard to "click". - Venom. Incredibly fun dive tank. Duelist: - Squirrel Girl. Very fun, very strong. Fits my playstyle very well. - Scarlet Witch. Very fun, but can't be played very well against certain comps. - Namor. Recent pickup. Another character that fits my playstyle, though I don't have the best accuracy (I'm relatively new to shooters). Strategist: - Rocket. My first main, and only strategist so far. I've played every other strategist, and none of them feel nearly as comfortable as Rocket. I only play the others if Rocket is already taken, but none of them feel right, including CnD. Adam and Luna come close, and I play them more often than the othera, but not nearly as much as I do Rocket.

Peni can be a good attrition tank but you have to pick your spots and be in your webbing either via the nest or a shot of web on the ground. If you can do that, the constant healing/shielding. If you can maintain that, you can trade with strange or magneto easy

As a Mr.Fantastic lord that has reach grandmaster. He doesn't play like a traditional dps. Hes more of a body guard, mini tank, even a parasite. meaning if you see a dive player in your team, work around them, If that dive player is not Ace than work around the ace. Best way to tell if you are doing "Well" as him is if your damage and block are close to even (Stop farming stats and start playing for the win.) He's honestly a vibe check imo. Edit: For his ultimate it's best use for the middle to the end of a fight. you'll either try to bait out support ultimates or go for the final elimination (His ult charges kinda fast imo)

Ive been a penni one trick for a while, and its been difficult finding a healer whose playstyle I can do well, i thought id be good at mantis but damn her sleep works so different than pennis stun. And both mantis and sue dont have self heals like rocket or C&D. But i think im doing good just trying to learn them, theres just a bit of a curve for me.

As a Penni main with about 20hrs she is very underrated and the more you learn her you get it. 🤌🏽 She is a damage beast and she is a HEALER. For a tip your webs that wrap an enemy can be use on the ground as healing & damage dealing when you or enemies walk on any of her webs. When she ults she heals teammates and damages enemies with the web that go in the ground. An amazing combo I have found is to ult with a cloak and dagger the double healing and damage can put enemies to low hp fast it also keeps Penni alive so she can spread her webs more. Also throw her mines behind the enemies as they push up when they retreat or as their back line moves up it will trigger them making for a better situation to kill the front line. Hope this helps anyone she’s dirty if you can learn her mechanics 👌🏽

For me personally i think the only reason i’ve solo qued my way to gm in both season under 100 games is that i have a large pool of characters i can play so i can fill in pretty much in any situation. Started out as a mantis main untill got bored of out dpssing the dps so i started to play tanks and dps more. In season 0 i mostly clim with mantis, strange, hela and punisher and currently i rotate between strange, thor, peni, groot, bucky, storm, hela, squirrel girl, namor, star lord and for heals mostly luna and rocket with a bit of warlock. I have like over 2 hours on every single character named plus ton more that i cannot remember ontop of my head but o think the reason i’ve found success on so many different characters is im solo que and on season 0 i didn’t play ranked untill i had like 400 games on qp learning all different characters and their matchups so i climmed to gm on the last 4 days of the season from bronze with a 75% winrate. Currently bucky is my fav characters since you can counter the dive heavy meta and pull the cnd out of their ult for a ez kill.

I find hitscan more difficult than projectile since all the games I grew up on used projectiles like cs, unreal tournament, cod, etc. Find myself always leading target and missing hitscans or aiming just above their head

But in practice it seems less hitscanny because bullet recoil has to be accounted for, so a lot of times you adjust for that by not aiming directly at target other than the first bullet. Typically in hero shooters hitscan means straight line only, where you aim is where it goes.

For those who played Gundam Evolution (my only other hero shooter experience) Hyperion and GM were my go to units. In this game i have been enjoying Dagger since day 1, Mr Fantastic feels strong until I ult, Magnto seems to never die, and I have fun using Peni but I do not feel confident in my piloting abilities there. Any tips?😂

My personal tips are: 1. Start experimenting with characters in AI to get a familiarity with the ones you like, as well as their counters.(if you don’t know what counters them, just see who kills you easiest and then try to figure out what they do to win that 1v1 so you can play/counter accordingly.) Keep using the difficulty til Hard-AI is easy. Really the only “hard” thing about them is that they have aim bot. 2. Take the characters you think you’re best with to Quick Play. QP is basically the Wild West, and you will find all sorts of different team comps, strategies, higher ranked players giving you visual representation of how to play, and you’ll deal with the hardest challenge of all.. people. You can never 100% account for their actions or skill level no matter what their rank may be. So it’s important that you learn to deal with how annoying the game can get. 3. Try Competitive to get a slightly more organized version of the game. These players want to win, so they will try harder to do so. You won’t always have a good time, especially in Solo-Queue, but generally speaking, if your fundamentals are solid, then you should be mostly fine. 4. Try to Flex Role. You may be extremely good at a few different characters, but you should learn several in not just one role, but all roles. You don’t need to be a flex player all the time by any means, but you won’t truly understand what each player goes through to heal, defend, peel, gain agro, etc. unless you play in those roles yourself. That’ll also help you identify where your team is weakest, and how to compensate for that in most situations. 5. Don’t think a Lord character is top-tier. It only means they put in time on that character, not that they are skilled with them. I’d say mostly you can assume they are at least competent, but don’t be surprised when they suck.(Especially Spider-Man) 6. Learn basic terminology within the community like; “Dive, poke, C9, flank, point, etc” so that you can more effectively communicate in the chat or voice com. 7. Lose your ego.(‘Nuff said.) 8. Keep the algorithm in mind. If you lose 2 games you’ll be placed against bots, as well as the game actively rigs it for a “fair” player experience. Which means it will occasionally be very unfair to you in order to be “fair” to others. 9. Get friends online. You’re better off playing with a team that you can actively interact with no matter how you slice it. 10. Have fun. If it’s not fun, turn it off.

My biggest issue with Magneto teaming up with Iron Fist is that, if you accidentally bubble an Iron Fist during his deflect ability, it won’t deflect. So.. even tho what you say is true, the fact that Magneto can accidentally impede Iron Fist from getting extra HP (and that happens a lot, my brother has bubbled me during unfortunate moments many times) is kinda bad. But that’s just my experience playing quick match with my brother, maybe in an organized team you can prevent to bubble an Iron Fist during his deflect.

One of the main reasons I main Luna is she's good in basically any situation. Not that she doesn't have weaknesses and there might be better heroes sometimes, but there's really no situation where you are going to say "I wish we didn't have a Luna on our team". If you want one trick that's always a good trick, Luna is probably the best choice, I don't think there's any other character like that.

I’d say wolverine is a counter to both magneto and strange. I say that as a strange main who is an ex-magneto main. Also, if I HAVE to play dps, wolverine is my go-to because I know how to make a tank’s life hell with him (because I am usually the one getting hard targeted by wolverine). So I feel like strange, magneto, and who counters them best is pretty familiar territory for me. 😅

I completely disagree with all these streamers saying “you can never master all of the characters if you play 10 different characters”…. That’s completely BS. A good player can “main” anyone they choose to practice with. It’s not rocket science to adjust your play style based on who you’re playing. That’s terrible advice. The more you’ve played with everyone, the more you understand what to expect from your opponents… the more you look at the maps from different angles you can’t get to with mantis (if that’s your only “main”) only playing a few characters, completely limits your growth.

I get what you’re saying, but the issue is you’re playing a lot of characters that play vastly different from each other; you’re effectively spreading yourself thin. While the best players tend to be able to play multiple characters, it usually means 1-2 in in multiple categories, and you can learn just as much about each player through fighting them as you can through playing them. None of the best players have wasted their time playing every character in the game for a reason

Isn't the point that a "good player" who can main anyone and tries to adjust their playstyle is a master of none? There is only so much time one can practice in game, and all else equal, a good player who plays the same 2-3 characters is going to head to head be mechanically better than a good player who constantly flexes into a 10 character pool

It’ll help more to know how they work when they’re against you than anything. Like I never understood lokis kit and never knew how to approach him until I used him

I play five characters. Scarlet witch if I have to play duelist, cloak and dagger or invisible woman for strategist, and doctor strange or (recently) magneto for vanguard

This is probably a dumb question but when you say marking, do you mean pinging someone?

He mentions it a few times, but when he says marking in this context hes using a basketball term. It means that you pick out a specific enemy player and make it your full time main mission to stick on them and prevent them from doing anything. For example, if the enemy has a black panther that is diving your team and you are namor, 'marking' black panther means that whenever black panther is alive you are saving your cooldowns and sticking back to punish him any time he tries to dive and preventing him from getting anything done. When he is dead you can be more free to make other plays, but when he is alive you are using all your resources on him.

I play every character practically. I’ve made it to diamond 1 in both seasons. The main thing I struggle with is when getting rolled, figuring out what the issue is. Like the enemy team can walk through my team. Idk why I wanna know why. Usually I assume it’s the dps fault for not pressuring the right people. But idk cause sometimes the tank just doesn’t make space/cant

I'm still trying to figure myself out but I think I have an idea of what I want to play Tank and dps wise at least. I love mobility above else and faster ways to traverse the map at all cost before anything else so any tank that has that or dps in fine with. I've been playing strange Peni and Venom a lot as my go to for tanks. And for dps I like Magik Moon Knight and ironman. Hopefully blade comes in the game that suits my playstyle. As for supports I'm still struggling on what is my play style for this. I like movement so I assumed mantis and Luna snow is for me but I still have trouble figururing out when is the right time to use their ult and kit abilities.

I honestly have about 7 to 10 hours on each individual I play, saying that playing a flex role is bad is kinda stupid, in each game no matter if it’s this or any shooter team based game always has a flex player on their team, I play, wolverine, magneto, Thor, hulk, Penni, storm, hela, spider man to a hella good level, strange, Bucky, punisher, all healers to a max, and psylocke. All these characters I play if my team needs. Having a huge range of characters and knowing how to use them all is better then knowing how to use two or three, u have no idea how many times in my gm games ppl say they don’t know how to play certain characters it’s ridicules.

Punisher needs to be able to swap between Rifle/Shotty ASAP rather than the lethargic pace he has current. I'm talking Quake-tier weapon-switch speed. At least, come on, damn. Maybe speed up the zipline deployment and/or let him use it as a bionic-arm if he snags a wall while jumping (as in, he doesn't need a surface below during his jump for the zipline to be made)

No, eventually everyone will have a lord character leading to them being devalued from where they are now and I don’t think proficiency actually translates to good plays it translates more to time played on that character. I have played with some lords who are quick play demons in my comp games lol

🎉I always end up playing Thor, Venom, Loki & Invisible Woman. Anytime I play duelist my brain dead team wants to have 4 duelist and complain about heals the whole time or that we don’t have a vanguard. Like dude be that guy. I think the most time I have on a duelist is Magik and it’s like 20 minutes tops. I would love time to learn Black Panther and Namor but yeah. Buuuuut it’s fine because I play Thor like a DPS… a very annoying hard to kill DPS. I 1v4’d the enemy time in overtime last night for the win with Thor it was nuts. So yeah, I think I found my main.😅
