It should be middle/neutural grip as there is no time to change grip when defending smash. Lee

It is amazing training! I impressed so much... In this morning I used this mature kind of smash-defence on my training. Together with my not bad finger-power, which I reached recently, not bad instance-step, footwork training from your's other video-playlist (How to improve your footwork) and positive mindset, I returned about 70-80% of smashes as effectively as I dreamed 2-3 years before. It was so simple, economically, very effectively and so impessively (not only for my surprized opponents, but much more for myself!! :)), that I will use this your kind of smash-defence from this video on every my training :). I such liked it!! Coach Lee, I wish you powerful health, hardy students, who love to learn and love you too :)))). You give us so many happiness! I am proud that I learned something from you!

Try much less swing, lower your posture and put real fucos on the shuttlecock. It will be better. Lee
@coachingbadminton
@coachingbadminton 12 жыл бұрын
That is a very good question. If shuttlecock is straight then put your racket foot forward that way you can attack as well as defense well. If you are on left side and shuttlecock is cross then your left foot forward to face the shuttlecock. If you are on right side of court and shuttlecock is cross thenyour racket foot forward to face to shuttlecock. Please try and let me know. Lee

Please check your base where you are standing for his smash. I think you are standing centre or close to the net. If you are standing the right base and opoonent samsh to your upper body then it will go out if you do not take it. Your posture may be standing too hoigh. Put your posture much lower. Try both then it will help your smash defense, Lee

The best way is to rest and to findout why that pain caused. There can be a number of resons. 1. taking shuttlecock above or behind your head instead of in front of your body. 2. Using too much shoulder instead of using more wrist. Three things can be done. 1. rest and treat 2. make your shoulder stronger 3. identify your skill why it is caused and improve or change your forehand overhesd skills. Even if you do good stretching the pain will come back as long as you play badminton. Kind regards.

I am sorry as it is very difficult for me to do it. Each racket feels different depending on each person's style, skill, strength and how they grip, where they grip, what string and what tension they use. The best way is to test number of rackets and choose the one you feel right. Lee

Hi Coach, Is it better to hand the racket on the backhand whenever you are waiting for a smash? Or just use neutral grip and then switch to backhand if needed... Whatever is the good choice i find it hard to have to change my grip to backhand to forehand or the opposite when the smash coming, cause its usually coming really fast! Thx

Coach Lee i just got in to Badminton and although i am improving as im playing, I have a few questions. The most difficulties i have is hitting a smash. Maybe it's because im new but whenever i try to hit smashes i seem to miss or hit very weakly. I will try your smash exercises and wrist exercises. Lastly, my shots seem to hit the edge or middle Y of the racquet a lot. Do you know what i can do to improve so i can hit the shuttlecock with the centre of the racquet?
@coachingbadminton
@coachingbadminton 9 жыл бұрын
Try these please: 1. Make you swing much more compact 2. Make the impact point infront of your body 3. Check your grip 4. Try not to do winding swing 5. Try to hit with wrist then whole arm and shoulder Please view smash related clips and study them, it may help you. If you can record your action and let me see it then I will be able to spot the reason/s. Lee
