He was never a great player, def didn't live up to his draft position... although he was drafted to Atlanta, so we could debate that all day long. But that 1 in a million bounce basically ended his career.
@squirrelydan33 ай бұрын
@bmir89 it didn't have to, though. All he had to do after whiffing was pin the puck in the corner. It was the panicked centering pass that really did him in.
@bmir893 ай бұрын
@squirrelydan3 Definitely agree. The bounce wasn't his fault, but he was definitely asleep at the wheel while skating it in. Which caused such a terrible reaction and led to him blowing a tire and literally turning it over. If he fumbled the bounce and just skated it into the corner, it would've been a funny blooper that would've been forgotten a decade ago. Nobody even remembers or cares that Dallas still won the game in OT.... Still cost him his career. I mean his last half season in Dallas was pretty abysmal anyways... so his time was running out. But this play ended it basically right then and there. He probably could've still circled the drain for a few more seasons floating around the league... there's always a desperate team willing to take a chance on a 1st overall pick, hoping to magically get that flame re-lit. Not after that though...
