Real tuff from a guy that only stopped 14 shots all game. If the goalies switched teams it would’ve been 10-0 instead. Imagine in baseball if a pitcher gives up 20 runs and then tries to act tough because his team already put up 25. “Scoreboard” is probably the biggest cop out for bad individual play ever. Carolina is one of the best teams, the hawks are by far the worst. There’s no “bragging” in beating a team you should beat 95/100 times.

Filigno has been gold BUT ChiHawks need someone nasty to really fuck up guys that cross the line. Washington's Tom Wilson could do this, because he's 51% past 18 years old mentally now, and not getting younger, and could start using some of his geniuine actual hockey talent for the light side of the force. Another guy, might be Englund, hitting the ripe old age of 28 and will need to start thinking about playing systems more as years go by and the price tag might be right. Bedard is a beast, but if Chicago let's people take liberties with him like the league did with Crosby... I know it's old school, but you HAVE to have a guy that when you cross the line with Bedard, you have a guy that EVERYONE wakes up and secretly hopes they don't have to fight. Now, another day, don't waste a good player's career like my man George Laraque's career ended. A guy you want on your team like Georges Laraque who is a viable great hockey player, that can also viably change your perspective on life decisions, if needed. A guy that when the coach tells you to drop them with, a small part of your life dies. Pittsburgh didn't do it with Sid, the game was going in a different way... What's really not good is that Bedard is going to get his head knocked off by questionable hits for the next 4 years, and then get REALLY hurt, and all of you will ask, "How could this have happened?" I hope I am wrong.

When a goal is taken back by inches according to the rules, it may not count on the stat sheets, but the players know the skill was there. If an offside had to be reviewed, then it was skill that got the goal, not dirty play. Beddard still beat the netminder. I’ve no problem with the ruling, you have to protect those, but if it’s that close, even though the goal doesn’t count, it still shows skill.

Orlov really needs to stop shoving players into our goaltenders. That's how Kochetkov got a concussion. Although I will say, Bedard definitely took the chance of being pushed into Martin to slash him hard on the inside wrist just below the glove where there's no padding (watch the replay, Bedard gets pushed, falls into Martin, and THEN slashes him on the wrist, it wasn't one motion). Then he pulls at Martin's right pad while Martin is in the butterfly which itself is a dangerous play. I don't blame Martin for giving Bedard a little slash back. Teams know that we're a goalie injury away from disaster (we're one of the best teams in the NHL despite having the literal worst goaltending in the NHL this season so far, something like .887 average SV%) so a lot of teams target our goalies.

Shouldn't that reverse hit be called as interference? "In ice hockey, a player can only check an opponent who is in possession of the puck. Checking is a technique used to separate an opponent from the puck by using the body to knock them against the boards or to the ice. A player cannot use their hands, stick, or extension of the arms to body check an opponent or deliver a late body check to a player who is not in control of the puck."

The list of Hall of Fame players who were on the smallish side is a very long one. Bedard may not be tall but he is thick with massive lower body on his frame. At 18 he is going to fill out and may still grow an inch or two. His talent is undeniable and given a couole of years and some better players to paly with the kid is going to be a stud. Crosby is not that tall and nor were guys like Patty Kane, Yvan Cournoyer, Marcel Dionne, Gretzky, Pavel Bure, Dave Keon, Bobby Clarke, Theo Fleury, Denis Savard, Marty St. Louis, etc., etc. He leads all rookies in scoring at just under a point per game as an 18 year old and has missed 13 or so games. Some people should think before they speak.

Chicago sure went all in with their tank last year. They tanked enough for the next five years and it shows.

Do you mean like Anaheim did losing 14 out of last 15? Hawks didn’t tank dummy.

Just as long as they get first in the draft, I don't care how many games they loose. It'll just make the future success that much sweeter, especially putting back to back #1 draft picks on the ice! Go Hawks, get last place!!!
