Yea just like with any technique it’s about intention, if you just default to crouch spraying subconsciously it’s not going to work, if you crouch for a reason and the reason is good then it probably will work.
@another76744 ай бұрын
Yeah also just mindlessly ONLY bursting 2-3 bullets in every gunfight is also bad. You have to adapt ur technique based on the context/situation
@thishandleistaken10113 ай бұрын
Good players play unconsciously lil buddy. Mid gunfight you can't consciously decide what to do, if you are doing that it's just going to cause chokes.
@COD_is_a_sin3 ай бұрын
@@thishandleistaken1011 no. Good players are thinking about everything on the map. Gunshots across the map, keeping track of where that player could be in 10 seconds. It happens more naturally when you're really good. But no, pros dont just go braindead and do good. They sweat their balls off, and put everything they know into practice. Shroud or scumpi, doesnt go braindead. They are constantly thinking- which position is best, enemy could throw a nade or a shield, all stuff you have to consider with every move, or you're gonna make 1 bad move and die. I'm above average on XDefiant, I'm top .5% on all my stats. Top .1% on a lot. Im not average. You HAVE TO THINK, thinking wins games. Think about what the enemies will think. Do the opposite. Aim is aim but its alllll the other gameplay that takes brain power. I watch several pros on XD, and myself included in this, if we go brain dead, we bhop in and die a lot. Were good and pick up kills, but we do much better when were locked in, and paying attention to alllll the information on the map. Should always be keeping track of enemies all over the map, cant fo that without thinking.
@thishandleistaken10113 ай бұрын
@@COD_is_a_sin I don't care about your stats in xdefiant. I'm top 1500 NA on Val. I said nothing about keeping track of the map. I'm talking about mid gunfight--which lasts less than seconds.

fr, like most ppl commit too much to the crouch spray way too often. most pros who do this only do commit in certain situations and generally crouch spray strafe like jingg and derke. its not bad to spray its just harder to learn to be as consistent on it
@SadMach1n33 ай бұрын
“Don’t spray, dont crouch, don’t ADS.” Cutting certain moves out of your arsenal is just crippling your gameplay lol. Instead just learn when to use each one and how to properly execute them
@kayshell663 ай бұрын
Exactly. I was getting flamed yesterday when I was in a 1v4 bc I was holding an angle from 30 meters away while ADS'ing and teammates were typing "nt" in chat before I even took my first fight. They stopped being mean when I clutched up from the added first round accuracy of ADS with the Vandal 😂
@zoen4774 ай бұрын
Its also noteworthy that in pro play once you kill someone another will just pop out the same corner to just trade you, so spraying in anticipation of the 2nd person in pro play is another reason they spray, like suppressive fire tactics Also they can just straight out control the random recoil of guns in the game better than almost all of us tbh
@supermonkeyqwerty3 ай бұрын
yeah your second point is on the money, even when they're spraying they're spraying for the head, while I'm almost always spraying for the body...

"precise gunplay" proceeds to add RNG bloom like its fortnite
@kayshell663 ай бұрын
I'm a new Valorant player coming from CS and one of the first things I noticed was that I'm much more deadly on CS than Valorant 😂 I couldn't figure out why I was so much better at one tapping with the AK on CS from absurd distances than with the Vandal in Valorant. I never knew about those first shot accuracy stats and also recently found out I don't HAVE to counterstrafe to stop my momentum quickly??? I can just let go of a key??? Still getting used to the more floaty and less responsive movement feel of Valorant. I feel like you change directions MUCH faster in CS and can shoot accurately faster as a result if you hit your counterstrafe perfectly. I feel a very weird delay in Valorant before I can actually shoot accurately. My timing is all messed up from CS, I'm just not used to having to wait so long to take a shot. The mechanical skill floor of Valorant feels very very low.
@agentak71933 ай бұрын
@@kayshell66 fr, in val it feels like your character keeps moving even if you dont input anything
@kayshell663 ай бұрын
@@agentak7193 I think the timing of coming to a full stop from releasing the key is about the same in both games. I mainly mean the speed and responsiveness of A/D spamming is better in CS. But the thing that keeps throwing me off is that counter strafing does absolutely nothing in Valorant unlike in CS. A bad player in CS will have to wait a while to get their 1st shot accuracy if they just release the key, but a good player can get it immediately with a counter strafe. In Valorant, everyone is forced to wait regardless if you counter strafe or not lol it's infuriating
@thishandleistaken10113 ай бұрын
@@kayshell66 You're so clueless. CS has way worse first shot inaccuracy, like multiple times worse. Mid on dust you have maybe a 10-20% hit probability to the head with AK. I put a video that has the chart I made. You're "more deadly in cs" because CS players are mechanically way worse and the movement is way more forgiving there. You can be sliding and still accurate in CS.
@thishandleistaken10113 ай бұрын
CS also has RNG bloom, and much more than Valorant. Spray a wall with serverside impacts enabled on a custom map. No 2 sprays are even remotely the same.

Ah the recent spray debate on Sayf's twitter. I really think this case is the perfect example for the 'Gausian-graph Wojak' meme (srry guys I have no idea to its proper name). Noob-wojak goes spray and pray, geek wojak goes rambling on about how two bursts are essential and strafes in fights are so valuable. The radiant wojak (in this case the pro wojak I guess) would also say "Spray and Pray". Valorant is so fun. Edit:Typo
@TheCrystalBlood4 ай бұрын
I think the overall lesson is, spraying is not an easy skill. If you don't have it developed yet, it's more beneficial for you to go for short, controlled bursts, instead of relying on rng to get you the kill. At least that's what I think.
@uSkizzik3 ай бұрын
@@TheCrystalBlood In Valorant's case it's half skill half RNG regardless of your level. You can control the recoil but the spray pattern is completely random (unlike in CS). You can't learn the spray pattern because it can go in any direction and you can't control it.
@TheCrystalBlood3 ай бұрын
@@uSkizzik But most players who spray and whiff completely don't have the skill part down and only rely on rng. That's my point. If you're not good at spraying, bursting and tapping is better for you.

imo it's good to know this knowledge but you shouldn't rely heavily on "following the textbook" use whatever strat works for you, if one taps feel easier then go with that, if crouch spraying feels easier then go with that, if bursting feels easier then go with that. When doing any of these or anything in between, it's great to have this knowledge in mind so you can know the advantages and disadvantages you have that you can use to perfect or adapt your style. The moment you start relying heavily on being 100% contextually correct is when you start to not have fun, bottleneck your potential, run into plateaus, and even mess up. In other words be dynamic and always try to adapt, "Be water, my friend."

@@CoachKonpeki Thank you. I learned this way of thinking through improving other skills, more specifically at sim racing. I was trying to follow all these techniques, (trail breaking, feathering the throttle, etc.), to a T. And found that simply trying to improve what I already knew and fixing my mistakes allowed me to learn new skills to continue forward in my journey. That's why I believe self evaluation or getting someone to evaluate you, completely unbiased is very important.
