It'd be awesome to see another swipe deep dive with variations, travelling, and other concepts added to it!

Sambo, you are a great teacher. One thing i was thiking of that is not talked about a lot is the differences in body structure. That has huge influence in the kind of style you develop and the abilities you choose and have more ease to do. Obviously a classic body shape/length will be good at most moves but ive seen classic breakers with for instance longer legs develop certain moves, and others with shorter arms for instance develop power moves instead moves where their body dont support balance horizontally as well. The bigger the body peculiarity the bigger the impact, and the more subtle individual characteristic in length/proportions simply in more subtle looks and effects in the overall final style. This is not all obviously but being a physical activiey it sets certain margins for what and how. Good to know and take into consideration with your students. Cheers

Great comment. I’d like if you elaborate more on this. For boys that are a bit heavier and muscular. What tendencies have you seen? I doubt this type of swipe tutorial works for all body types. Cheers!
@eddiexx4 ай бұрын
@@mike619 Hi, it depends i think on what type of bigger you mean. if the body is thicker but also muscular then they compensate and most moves should work (within reasonable limits) I think we all tend to simply lean towards moves that come easy to us without even thinkin about it, but its good to be aware so we dont feel "dumb" and keep hitting the head on the wall, instead we can then understand why and find ways around problems. We are all different and that goes from not being able to recreate certain moves as easily as others to also creating new solutions because of that, and thereby developing new looks and styles, all depending on the grade of uniqueness we carry with us. Cheers

@@eddiexx Hi guys thanks for the comment. Tbh it would be very hard to break-down body types and recommend moves based off of that. No matter the body type, weight, length... The flexibilities, strength and even personalities and other talents just lead to no specific pattern in my experience. Maybe I could make a video on how to discover and develop personal traits 👍
@eddiexx4 ай бұрын
@@CoachSambo, oh the idea is not "breaking it down" in any particular way, just something to keep in mind when students approach certain moves and despite of training cant manage them. Or just as explanation why tourtels come naturally to some, or flairs etc. just as a general view on why certain people develop certain moves. i could deep dive in with practical examples going back to classic figures from the RSC n NYCB etc but it would be a bit overkill doing it here . Sure, that idea of personal traits video would be very interesting, great idea. Cheers

I like this new format where you show your students learning this in real time. I'd like to see one if possible for Airflares where we get to see your students go through every single exercise that you teach them in real time!

Great video. It would be really helpful if you included strength training progressions to do specific moves. I have a hard time getting enough lift from my legs going into the swipe which leads me to have my feet on the floor when changing hands. This is because going onto my hands reduces there force needed to get my legs up.

These are some golden tips for my students! I couldn't find a way for them to keep their hips high so these exercises will defintely help! Thanks, coach! Also... for upcoming students: do you recommend teaching them the windmill before the swipe?
@CoachSambo4 ай бұрын
It would mostly depend on their handstand capabilities, so best do work on both evenly.

Literally I was dealing with hips too low this week. Now I understand how to change it, thanks. (Nice new format btw)

Any tips for swipe to handstand/1990? I think my issue is that my swipes go super wide so instead of going 1/2 of a circle after 1 swipe. I go like 3/4 of a circle after a swipe.
