I am so happy I found this channel. I had lost almost 20kg from January 2021 to October 2021 with only 7kg to go to reach my goal weight, and have plateau'd ever since. I went from a 500 calorie deficit to 750, and when still nothing changed, I even went into a 1000 calorie deficit. And I am still stuck at this weight. I thought my body had been defying the laws of thermodynamics, but it turns out I've been putting it in starvation mode. Last week, I started to eat more, largely protein based, and am doing resistance training to build muscle and lose fat. Please God, let this be the solution... 😭

It's complicated. I started to eat slightly more and then I gained weight like crazy. This put me in a depressive binge eating mode for a good while and regained 10kg, but then I picked up the slack last April and started eating at a 250 kcal deficit. I have also really taken a liking to running and do it 5 days a week. Almost 3 months later now, I am almost back at my lowest weight and my muscle-to-fat ratio is actually normal. Still 9kg above my goal weight, but I've been going down still and honestly, this lifestyle has grown so comfortable to me that I don't care anymore if and when I reach my goal weight. If I do reach it or get close to it, I will post an update if I can find this comment section by that time.

@@TheKrazeeLadeeI don’t know why you say it’s complicated? I see that you tried to be extreme but then you took a LT sustainable approach and it works 💪 So it’s maybe not a straightforward process but maybe you just needed to try different things first (?). Keep up the long and steady road ! I’m already impressed by your success and determination 💪

Golden. I have been at maintenance for about a 5 months at 1650-1700 cals. I walk 10k steps a day and lift 4 times a week. Toner then that I am sitting. So I choose light activity . I must say though. The TDEE calculator was pretty accurate for me. It spit out the same number that I am maintaining by. I think go the most part the BMR estimates in most calculators are pretty good. It’s the activity that people mess up all the time. And even if one chooses the wrong level, it might only be 200 cals off target which is when the adjustments and self experiment will take place. Meaning that if the number given by calculators did not work for you, then all you have to do is reduce by 100 cals -200 and retest weight over the next 2 weeks to see what happened . I love this experimenting. The first experiment I did in myself was to test if carbs made you fat . So after 15 years of eating low carb, I tried to track my calories in a small deficit but this time eat carbs and weigh and ensure everything . I was astonished in the first week I lost exactly one pound and this is taking into consideration someone who ate do or carbs that I thought my body would have soaked up water like a sponge for eating oats , potatoes , tortilla wraps and beans in week 1. Everything you said I agree with 200%

I discovered this channel last week and the videos are so helpful and motivating! I have tried tracking calories before but I don't find it sustainable long term. How long would you advise to keep counting calories?
@CoachViva2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I recommend as long as it takes for you to learn how to eat in a calorie deficit. You don't need to count calories forever, but most people find they need to count calories until they're able to transition to intuitive eating (i.e., have built good habits). I talk more about transitioning from counting calories to intuitive eating here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaDYi62hfKanrdU Hope this helps!

I have a job where I work 4-5 days a week and am on my feet and lifting things for 6-8 hours at a time. On my days off I take 30 minute walks outside. So I usually put moderate activity level. I just have to hope that's correct...

Do you know at what rate we should lose fat given our BF% in order to minimize muscle loss? Example, what percentage calorie deficit (for a male) should I do if I'm at 10% BF, 13%BF, 15%BF, 20%BF in order to maximize fat loss and minimize muscle loss. This of course assumes my protein is high and I'm strength training 2x/week (or more).

Hi Arya, my answer would be the same as in the video. Check out Step 2 for your calorie deficit and then Step 3 to experiment based on your results.
@dl8h56542 жыл бұрын
Hey, I have a question regarding calorie deficit. So once you know your deficit calories, do you count the calories burnt? For example; say your calories are 1500, but you burn 200kcal, would you technically eat 1700 to meet the deficit, or just eat 1500 still? Thank you for this very informative videos, they have helped me a lot!!
@CoachViva2 жыл бұрын
Instead of counting burnt calories separately, I suggest eating as you normally would the first week and seeing how your fat mass and lean mass trends. Then adjust your calorie target to be lower or higher depending on what you saw happen physically to your size. As for how you adjust depends on how much your size changed. This way you are already taking into account calories burned - the actual real ones, and not just theoretical from a formula

How do you calculate body fat percentage?
@wowwow57252 жыл бұрын
Yes don’t do this. I did this, and ruined my metabolism, as in nothing burned at rest. I start my re feed diet this week with my new workout plan. I hope this works

Hi, I love your videos, very useful approach. Can I ask how are you measuring body fat? I have q renpho scale but even though I'll lose 11lbs the body fat only goes down maybe 1% I thought maybe it wasn't accurate. What should I be looking for as successful fat loss and how should I measure it please?
@virginiemazy7054 Жыл бұрын
I think she mentions the fact that you measure yourself in other videos. Then you can see how many cm or inches you loose. Your clothes are also a good indication. Also photos at the beginning vs after 3 months could help but maybe the changes have to be more « dramatic » as our bodies fluctuate during the day or the months.

I never really know what to put as my activity level when I try to calculate my TDEE. I have a desk job and I don't often do workouts, but I do walk a lot - usually a total of about 3-4 hours a day spread out over several shorter walks, so would that count as formal exercise or NEAT?
@kark20362 жыл бұрын
i just used the two calculators you linked. Why does my TDEE go down if I put in my body fat percantage?

Is the badass body boss program useful for thyroid patients want to lose weight?
@barvall42 жыл бұрын
The navy calculator says I'm obese, and gives my body fat at 36%. My Renpho scale says my body fat is right at 30% and the TDEE says my BMI is 24.5 which is a normal weight (based on Renpho body fat) . Although ideal weight would be 129-135 (which is my goal). My maintenance calories are about 2100 calories based on the TDEE calculation. 1514 calories is a 7 day average of how many calories I've been eating, using the Noom calculator. I consider myself as a moderate exerciser because I do at least 5000 steps a day with little effort (we have a mini-farm) plus mild-effort Pilates about 3x a week. Any suggestions? Am I not eating enough? I've had 3 major surgeries from May 2021 - March 2022. (Under anesthesia for 8 hours total). Thanks!

Is a 200 decifit enough for weight loss ?
@staralways52 жыл бұрын
The video had already stated a 10-20% deficit to be most effective generally. So it’s not the absolute number of calories that we should be looking at
@Cjeska2 жыл бұрын
A single calorie can lead to effective weight loss, it's basically a question of how long you are willing to wait before you see results and how meticulous you are when it comes to counting. The smaller your deficit is, the less wigglerooom you have for errors, which also means you NEVER eat out, because even when they tell you the calories, it can easily be off by more than 200 calories for one meal.
