KRAMER AND KIESLING have designed a whole host of great games....but i believe this is the true masterpiece out of all the great games they have co-designed...i mean moving that mine cart from level to level...is so satisfying and so over the top...luv this game 10/10!!!!

I just picked up this game from someone for $20. Glad I did and thank god you folks played it and had Dave explain the rules. Can't wait to play it now.

I just played this game on Saturday. AWESOME! I really loved it! It was one of the best games we've added to the collection over the past couple years. Simple yet very strategic and fits in within our usual time restraints on our game night.

@17:40 Dave: Make sense? Lincoln: That doesn't make any sense... dunno why, but that made me spit-take... good thing I wasn't drinkin' nothin'... I did notice the jump cut though... must have been a couple seconds of confusion clearing that happened in the middle. The sharp cut does make it very comical though :)

I love you game night people. Really decent bunch. Entertaining, and explain everything so well. Coal Barons has only one major flaw, however, and that is the thickness of the cardboard. Its way too thin. For the cage movement, it has to be at least the thickness of 'Galaxy Trucker'. I would need to mount mine on something before I play it again.

I don't know if it's the microphone set up, or Chris is just softly spoken, but he can be difficult to hear. He often sounds like he's just talking to Dave rather than to the room. Otherwise enjoyed it, as always. Thanks.

The guy with the long nails adds nothing to the group at all. He has zero group interaction and when he does speak it is always in a passive aggressive way. Please never invite him back again.

Many games have different starting player conditions. Oldest player, youngest player, pointiest ears etc. Perhaps he's waiting for a rulebook to say "Longest fingernails"goes first.
