I saw that tour when they played Roseland Ballroom in NYC. Slipknot absolutely crushed! After they finished, my friends and I left and waited outside for the next 3 hours, collecting autographs from all 9 members. Nobody knew what they looked like, but they didn't try and hide from the fans and were very nice to us all. That is one of my all-time favorite concert memories.

Meegs would be so cool to bullshit with man. Any one of those dudes from back then would have the coolest stories. Thanks Garza 🤘

Was at the Seattle show that tour. The anticipation for Slipknot coming off Ozzfest 1999 was absolutely intense. After their long ass intro, they went into (sic), that whole place erupted. It felt dangerous. 😂

This was the living La vida loco tour Amen , Slipknot machine head coal chamber . ‘99 Slipknot a 2nd tour after ozzfest . Saw it in nj and won an autograph guitar from every member of each band from WSOU . Met Slipknot cuz one of the guys from WSOU asked me who I wanted to meet. Back then Slipknot had there website where you could message members. I messaged Joey . I told Joey I messaged him and before I can say the rest Joey said “ did I message you back?” And he absolutely did.

I saw that tour when it came to San Antonio. I was 17 years old and Slipknot tore it up in 1999 and 2000

My first concert was a slip knot slayer and Motörhead show. The metal mayhem tour. Close to the end of Lenny’s life. Great times great memories.

I saw SK open for Coal Chamber in 99 and yeah it was amazing (a few months later Kittie would open for SK) but I also saw Coal Chamber open for Type O Negative in 2000 and they fucking killed it. WE LOVE A STRONG OPENER!

Dude! I saw slipknot live in Aug 2000. That show was like a bomb went off. Corey was on his game and to be honest it was Joey Jordison who made it really powerful. They were already the kinds of the genre then.

I fucking love the first 2 albums. Vol.3 was okaaaay. I heard All Hope is Gone, and I absolutely hated it. Haven't really given the newer material a shot.
@travisspaulding22224 ай бұрын
Same here. I saw them on their first headlining tour and they killed it. Once you've seen Slipknot in the late 90s, the newer shit just doesn't cut it, lol.
@GeminiWoods4 ай бұрын
@travisspaulding2222 First time I saw them was right after they released Iowa at the Norva in VA. Tiny ass venue. The show was batshit crazy. I don't even remember who opened for them.

Vol 3 was the last awesome album from Slipknot. After that? Meh.
@wesleyappleby29754 ай бұрын
I 100% agree the first 2 albums were 🔥 Then there was too much singing. Corey at his best is pure fury!!!!! I understand they want contrast but slipknot was at its best when the vocals were primarily aggressive

Y'all expect slipknot to stay in a 1999-2001 mode forever angry all that. I'm glad they changed why be so angry forever

i remember watching that tour back in the day (i'm old now lol) when it rolled through Toronto Canada and Slipknot chose violence that night and probably every other night of that tour. Machine Head did well but by the time CC came out, unfortunately so many people had left it was surprising. CC had a good set but Roadrunner shouldn't have put Slipknot on that tour because they literally ended CC's career and MachineHead had to go through some serious inner reflectioning when their weird nu metal fashion act failed. Times were changing back in 99.......\m/ \m/

Knocked loose might be doing that to slipknot this upcoming tour, knocked loose gets a crowd moving!
@wesley00s4 ай бұрын
Hell yeah , haha. Knocked loose brings back that same energy that Slipknot had in 1999. I mean... Slipknot is still one of the most badass performances today, but they are old and their energy is obviously not the same as the self-titled and iowa era

Dez tells this story on NFR podcast like he was the one warning the band about Slipknot...what a fake loser...
@Fgdftgggb4 ай бұрын
Lol didn't he try to get slipknot kicked off their tour but Sharon Osborne said that the only reason their selling tickets is because of slipknot 😂😂😂
@slothmaster101Ай бұрын
I might be remembering the interview with Dez wrong, but I think Dez said Meegs and him after seeing Slipknot's set, walked outback and Meegs said - "I don't think we can do this." Which Dez replied - "We have to try. or else it's over for us!" Needless to say Slipknot was a very hard band to follow.

Honestly slipknot is too much of a spectacle of late. The music is still there but I’ll pass all day on that circus act show! Too much going on on stage, it takes away from the music imo
@Jeff-xt7xs4 ай бұрын
They sound better then ever.
@mOnStErMACEO4 ай бұрын
@@Jeff-xt7xs well yeah now they do, I’ll agree. But the overall spectacle takes away from the actual show and music…. They’ve always had world class drummers, why add layers of percussion? I dunno, I’ve seen them 4 times. It’s repetitive. The stage changed.
@mOnStErMACEO4 ай бұрын
We all can hear Eloy pumping some aggression into those drums we haven’t seen since Joey. I dunno. Record some IOWA type stuff. That’s all I wanna see
