I wavy but coarse hair, that I wear blow dried and having difficulty finding the right products. I usually deepen condition, use a leave in conditioner and use an oil moisturizer at home. I tend to go to Dominican hair salons, when needed, because they’re able to handle my hair, however I don’t like the use of excessive heat and their attempt to flat iron it to almost silky smooth. I’m a wrong? Is an oil moisturizer good for coarse hair? Need help

When it comes to social media, I tend to see hairstyles featuring hair that looks NOTHING LIKE MINE. I'm sure it's a marketing thing for that company's services. I wish there was a company that can confidently showcase fine hair styles on a consistent basis.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It is much needed. When I was younger I had very thick an extra, extra kinky hair that people mistook for thick nappy hair, and when I would go to hairdressers they would often use products that were meant for people with super thick kinky hair. That would always damage my hair to the point of my hair falling out within a week or two from scalp. As I got older I started working with and examining my own hair and I realize that I actually had fine kinky hair. I also realized that I my hair did not do so well with products that had a of man-made chemicals in it and so I switched over to natural products which served my hair well. But then God trusted me with a few health challenges and my hair started to fall out. I now have an even finer texture growing in some of the places where my hair came out. I wish I and all the hairdressers had this knowledge way back when. Right now I don't know what to do to get any of my crown and glory to grow again.

I have coarse hair strands to where if my hair goes unmoisturized(natural/relaxed), can start to feel like beard hair. I feel my hair is more fragile than fine hair. Fine hair to me has more flexibility. The only moisturizer that really does the trick to penetrate my hair strands is S-Curl moisturizer.

Personally, my sister, mom, and I have thick hair. However, I'm the only one that has fine hair. Mine is also wavy with ringlets. My hair gets split ends easier and is usually frizzy and prone to breakage. It's annoying

I love your videos!! I've learned so much about my hair and caring for it. Please keep sharing! The one that blew my mind was when I found out I did not have straight hair 🤯 I grew up not being educated about my hair, cause my mom doesn't do anything to her hair but spritz it with water in the morning. So now I'm on this quest to find how to care for my hair best. k love you byeeeeee

My question is why then people with fine hair are usually fine having highlights all their life? Especially straighter hair. But me with coarse dark hair takes a lot of effort to keep it healthy and breaking. My hair is coarse but 3c, dark and very dry so i think those things are large contributors to bleach being so detrimental to my hair while fine hair is usually smoother and more naturally moisturized

Thank you for breaking it down. I always said my friend has coarse hair although I'm kinky coily 4C and my hair is coarse but she has a looser coil than mine, and her hair is wavy and she's maybe 3C/4A. My hair being coarse and thick confuses people because back in the day with relaxers some beauticians that didn't really know hair wanted to put super strength in my hair when regular strength was just fine. Now today I had a stylist say she was shocked at how it didn't take much to blow my hair straight, so 🤷🏾‍♀️

I thought the opposite of fine strands was thick strands, not course. I have fine, course (or maybe kinky would describe it better) hair. The diameter of my strands are thin, but my hair is 4c/4d, so kinky, but I use the word course to describe it. ☺️

Yea I knew I was right. My hair is fine but as a kid I had tons of hair. My mom always called it coarse because of that and treated it as such and let me think losing balls of hair daily during styling was completely normal. I'm now trying to learn how to properly care for my hair and how to do different styles myself.

That also explains why my hair can take so much heat. I never understand when my former hair stylist's mom would say, "Wow! Your hair is able to take so much heat"! Also she said something about heat retaining?

Tnx, I was so confused. I took an online quiz for some hair products and it said I have coarse hair?? I have the finest hair ever, you can barely see my hair strands individually. I thought that maybe I missunderstood what coarse and fine means, but nope

I'm so sorry if I seem ignorant but I wondered if you could tell me the proper term to use when referring to the tight curly type hair you usually find in people of African descent "for example" ? (see! I'm afraid to even describe it) I'd die if I unwittingly used an offensive term to someone. Just trying to school myself x

I get so tired of this. Because dense and very curly that likes to clump to it’s coarse. I’m like please separate the clump and see the strand because it will break if you look at it too meanly.
