Coast Guard finds missing Titanic sub wreckage, all 5 aboard killed

The company leading the Titan submersible trip says the five missing crew members are believed to be dead.
OceanGate Expeditions on Thursday says its pilot and chief executive Stockton Rush, along with passengers Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet “have sadly been lost.”
OceanGate did not provide details Thursday when the company announced the “loss of life” in a statement or how officials knew the crew members perished.
The vessel’s 96-hour oxygen supply likely ended early Thursday.
The company has been chronicling the Titanic’s decay and the underwater ecosystem around it via yearly voyages since 2021.

If it imploded, they literally never felt a thing. Everything I've read indicates that those implosions are so violent and so sudden that it can compress the air inside to the point of ignition. But it's all over in hundreths of seconds. Too fast for even the nerve impulses to reach the brain and be processed. 10 meters down in water is 1 extra atmosphere of pressure, so 4000 m down is 400 atmospheres or ~6000 psi.

The fact that Oceansgate privately had know that Sunday that the sub imploded immediately after comms and tracking were both lost simultaneously and shared that fact with the Navy,....yet, while publicly misleading the public for four days is the real tragedy here. The families were hanging on to false hope for days until Thursday when Wood's Hole Oceanographic Institute finally confirmed what was known all along on Sunday by traveling to Titan's last known position and then descending straight to the bottom where Titan's wreckage was found,......... ....exactly where they expected to find it.

I don’t think thought that at all. If you are rich , poor, middle class , a lost of life is a loss, families are forever more changed. Money does not change what people who are left behind have to deal with. So you comment is very much not necessary. My father passed away and we where just above middle class and had two family businesses. Money was always earned and it took major sacrifices to keep them successful and operating. When he passed the money he left and things he left is behind, lost its value and life itself was changed tremendously. Money does not necessarily make a person who they are or where, we have been in both sides of that equation. These people had souls, feelings, family, and friends that left behind and no amount of money will ever feel the void that will forever be there. I hope that you never experience such lost because it is something that almost took life from me. It sad that you think money was these peoples only route to happiness. They where successful and I am sure that it was not given to them but earned. God had a date set aside for when he called for them to come and be with him, as you also have a date scheduled, because we all do! God will not judge you by what your bank account had or the possessions you hold before you where called to your judgment date, you are simply judge on scale as anyone with or without money. It’s so sad that so many people say thank believe the same thing as you and you have no understanding of the Cale or values of life.
