Coast Guard Requirements

Requirements to Join the Coast Guard
Age - You must be between 17 to 27 for active duty and 17 to 39 for reserve duty. 17 year old recruits require parental consent.
Education - High School Diploma is required, however, sometimes a GED is accepted. There are also ASVAB minimum scores that must be met.
Back Ground Check - Security, Financial checks must be passed.
Personal Evaluation - The "whole person" evaluation considers your attitude, professionalism, honesty, respect, language proficiency, weight/physical abilities and work ethic.
Physical Fitness Requirements - Recruits must be in good health and pass a physical fitness test at basic training. All recruits must know how to swim before completing basic training.
Height and Weight Requirements - Members of the Coast Guard must remain fit for full duty by maintaining their Maximum Allowable Weight (MAW) according to specific guidelines.

I was told by a recruiter on the phone that a 50 is the nessary score, but saw online 40 whit high school diploma. I'm 31 have diploma no prior military service. looks like only reserves is the option me?

You can go active duty up to age 32 with guaranteed A school. Technically the ASVAB minimum is 40 but needs to be much higher to be competitive with other applicants.

Your total debt cannot exceed 30% of your pay for the year.

I'm 22 years old and I wanna catch bad guys and I wanna join the Military like the Coast guard and in the coast guard I wanna do Narcotics and now the ASVAB score is a 36 not a 45 the new score on the ASAVAB is a 36 and I wanna do narcotics so I wanna catch Bad guys so when I get out of the coast guard would I be able to do narcotics in the DEA when I get out of the coast guard?

Yea it is as far as active duty. I'm 32 and just recently came to the conclusion I wanted to join the military so now I'm looking into the National Guard.
