Interestingly, with handle down 19.4% at Churchill Downs at the September 2024 meet, average field size was actually up a hair - from 8.15 to 8.27 runners per race.

I was at Kentucky Downs the day Cogburn ran and won. I watched him come back after the race and he was very lame. Guess we will see if it’s something that is fixable.
