Not only did you pick the best truck for this build but it's worth every moment you spend building that beautiful bumper for that gorgeous incapable truck
@SquareOneForge3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you meant “capable” or if you’re trolling … either way thanks for the comment. Here’s the definition of the word you chose. ⬇️ in·ca·pa·ble /ˌinˈkāpəb(ə)l/ adjective 1.unable to do or achieve (something). “That truck ain’t gonna make it up that hill, it’s incapable” Similar: unable to, not capable of, lacking the ability to, not equipped to, lacking the experience to 2. unable to behave rationally or manage one's affairs; incompetent

"and capable"... LOL voice to text is not great on a cheap cell phone. I've had a few to come as and my stock 2000 extra cab could do things you wouldn't believe and my four-door 2001 with the locking rear differential to e locker would go anywhere I pointed it. I wish I had had the kit like you've got though because that bumper you built is badass dude

I love Toyota tacomas but my forte was the 1985 4Runner. I did a 2-year build on a $100 scrap that I bought from a guy in Jacksonville and with the donation of seven other old Toyotas that were in different levels of decay I built what I called, Frankenrunner. On a couple of the forums back then they used to call me Dr frankenreunner. LOL

I chuckled at incapable too. I have one of these trucks. And it certainly not the most powerful lol. But totally worth investing in for the way it makes me feel at home when I'm behind the wheel.

When painting something in your garage make sure to take your truck out or paint outside so you don’t get overspray mist on ur sweet Tacoma paint : )

Thanks! I don’t mind over spray on my truck. It’s my wife’s car I am concerned with. My truck looks good from far but it’s far from good. Totally has flaws, scratches, over spray, rust, its a nice truck but at the end of the day, it’s a tool. Overspray adds character in my opinion. Glad you think it’s a sweet truck. I appreciate the comment 👍😊

What wheel offset and tire size setup do you have? Did you always have a lift with those tires? Did they rub if you didn't? I'm curious for my own setup as I'm trying to see different options people go with, thanks.
@SquareOneForge3 жыл бұрын
I bought the tires knowing they would rub stock. That way the lift kit was an easy sell to the wife. 😉 I’m not sure what to offset the wheels are, I went through 4 wheel parts to get them. Procomp series 69 with BFGoodrich 265/75 16 roughly 31x10.5 s

Nice job. I'm fixing to build the exact bumper for my 1st gen regular cab, already have the bumper, just trying to find time to build it. Did you completely weld the inside of the bumper, or just spot weld it and completely weld the outside?

are all plate bumpers ultimately held on by the two 16mm bolts for the reinforcement bracket?
@SquareOneForge3 жыл бұрын
So there are four bolts in the factory locations and two additional bolts that capture the frame top and bottom with bumper and main plate. You can also do what is called the “end cap modification” and weld a nut into the front of the frame rail and add an additional two points of security. So far this bumper design is very solid! Thanks for asking

@SquareOneForge3 жыл бұрын
They are sold as the same, the frame is a bit different between the two trucks. The kit can easily be fit to either truck.

Could you describe that mistake that you made a bit more? I'm going to build this same bumper and want to make sure I don't make that mistake. Thanks for the video!
@SquareOneForge3 жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure, So when you begin the build you need to tack piece numbers 1 and 2 to the back of plate #3, I failed to tack plate number 2 which sits on top of the frame rails to plate number 3 and this caused a headache when I took the bumper off to burn it all in. It was a simple error and I was able to fix it but it took a shit load of time I really shouldn’t have had to put into the bumper. Feel free to hit me up on Instagram and I would be happy to give you more details and pointers in a DM chat. Thanks for reaching out

Still one of the most affordable bumper kits at $556.00 USD. Can’t beat the quality for that price. If you’re a welder or know someone who can weld, you have a bumper for less than $800. I can’t speak to any other vehicle parts aside from first gen Tacoma stuff however 👍
