I have recently become an enthusiast. I felt my DNA change from GP to that of a thoosie. It was my trip to cedar point that did it. At the time I was GP, but I loved coasters. After that I started to consume a lot of coaster content online. A month or so after cedar point we went to the universal parks in orlando and after one ride on rip ride rockit,(first coaster we did on that trip) I knew I was hooked. I'm getting the hershey park pass for 2023, and well before I saw this video I thought cargo shorts would be nice. I'm so glad I became an enthusiast because I got to see this video. Here is how I became a coaster enthusiast: 12 year old me went to seaworld orlando. I rode a kiddy coaster. I rode journey to atlantis. I me chickened out to go on manta. I regretted it. I saw a coaster studios video where he said the word B&M. I wanted to know what B&M was. I looked it up. I found out that Seaworld San Diego was opening a B&M dive coaster in April. My dad had a conference in San Diego a few months later and I went and we went to seaworld san diego. I went on Manta. I went on pretty much everything there. Then there was no line for emperor so I went on without thinking. I loved it. I rode it again and I WAS ADDICTED. I learned more about different manufacturers and all about the industry and what made a good coaster. Im 14 now and just an average coaster enthusiast that thinks Millennium Force is forcless and airtime is the best thing ever. And yes I wrote everything in small sentences shortly.

You showed footage from Great Old Amusement Parks, the program that started me down the rabbit hole. The reason I grew up with that documentary so prominantly is someone who was my neighbor from 2002 until mid 2014 was very prominantly featured. Brain Rush was also big for me, being that they never said it was at Knotts (or at least I never heard them say it) so I had to research where those rides were. Then it was KZbin. Then Mindbender got me over my fear of inversions. Then, Leviathan pushed me over.

Playland San Antonio closing in 1980 was _very_ strange to me. What would happen to The Rocket that I grew up riding? It made me realize _my interest in roller coasters is beyond normal_ when I suddenly was infatuated with saving The Rocket and finding & riding more coasters. So In 1982 I went on a nationwide coaster trip & met Dick Knoebel. I told him The Rocket was for sale & would go great at his park. He bought it. I'm a wood coaster enthusiast. I'm also a BBQ freak. Smoked meat should stand on it's own & taste great _without sauce._ A roller coaster should also stand on it's own & be great _without theming._ I judge a roller coaster 100% on how it feels when it's rolling. Hate me, but...I don't like theming. I've ridden almost every U.S. wood coaster, China is next! My goal on a good woodie is _at least_ 20 rides. I've got to study the coaster really hard. While having fun. I think I'm a coaster enthusiast.

I am a not so old "roller coaster enthusiast", who loves RMC and Intamin and RMC and Intamin and only has 12 credits. And I am gonna write a billion letter comment explaining how i became an "enthusiast", probably nobody will ever read this entire comment but I don't care. My first roller coaster ever was Bob at Efteling. I was 2 or maybe 3 and I can't remember anything from that ride, but looking back at the onride photo, I don't really think I enjoyed it lol I was Young, like VERY young. I was like 4 or something (i told u i was young) and I was a giant fan of... Thomas the train. When I was 5 or 6 I became more of a fan of just trains, and I watched some train video's on youtube. And it didn't take that long until youtube thought that Kingda Ka was a train. I saw a POV of Kingda Ka and I ended up watching it multiple times before clicking on another video. Rollercoasters came into my recommended more and more everytime I opened youtube. But the thing was i was scared as hell of roller coasters I was 8 or 9, and I knew pretty much things about roller coasters already. And we were going to Parc Asterix yayyyyyyy. Oh yeah and i didn't even think of riding their zierer tivoli because "it looked so damn fast" So yeah at one point I just had to ride something. And we were going to Europa Park. Aka the park that is perfect for starting with coasters. I definitely enjoyed my first ever not-scary ride on a roller coaster which was kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqjQo3eel9p3kNU&ab But yeah later I got on Voletarium which is kind of like a simulation of flying through the entire world with high speed but it felt so realistic that I actually felt like I was going fast and I automatically screamed when the ground was coming close to my feet (on the screen). My dad convinced me that a roller coaster would feel similar so after I passed the exit of the ride, we ran to Arthur and oh boy, that thing made me want "more". So we got on ALPENEXPRESS ENZIAN which was my first experience with a not very smooth rollercoaster and because I had only ridden smooth coasters by far, I didn't enjoy it. I just walked around the park for the following hour which wasn't really bad, because the theming at the park is great. Europa Park kinda made me love both theming and rollercoasters which is why I love themed rollercoasters. But after that hour we walked to Pegasus which was the final coaster of the day (I know it's not big but it felt like SteVe to me) and I loved it. I didn't dare to ride the bobsleigh yet, but oh well, I was a beginning coaster fan, not the biggest one ever yet. (not gonna lie now i think back of it, I think I would have loved riding it) But yeah, that was basically my day at Europa Park. Im sure that if I would have spent 2 days at the park I would have maybe ridden more. This was in 2019 btw Aaaaaaaaand then COVID-19 came and everything shut down :DDDD Covid-19 made me not visit any park for 2 years. But after 2 years of waiting, I finally visited a park again which was the park the closest to my home, Walibi Holland. The first ride of the day was Speed Of Sound and I loved it. Yes I love a Vekoma boomerang, now what. Speed Of Sound was my first ever inverting roller coaster, and it later made me ride Xpress: Platform 13, Goliath and Untamed. Sadly that were the only coasters I had ridden that day, because every other coaster was a coaster the rest of my family didn't wanna ride, except for Lost Gravity, but that one was closed the entire day so yeah. But yeah after my visit to Walibi Holland I actually started counting coaster credits which are a WhOpPiNg 12 CrEdItS but I hope I will just visit a park again soon because even though I only have 12 credits yet, I am loving roller coasters and RMC and Intamin and RMC and Intamin and back row airtime on RMC's and Intamins. Congratulations for making it to the end of this comment, probably nobody will ever read this entire comment but hey if you did, congrats man :DDD But yeah that's how I became a "roller coaster enthusiast"
